@BenRamanauskas Onions were already one of the cheapest vegetables. This is nonsense on stilts.

@Telegraph Er, most of this goes back to when the Conservatives were in government. Especially Boris Johnson's time as PM.

@g_gosden I'm waiting for him to call for us to stop using Arabic numerals and only use English ones!

@Smash74285112 @g_gosden Yes. Imagine Brits going abroad to find all the signs at airports etc were only in the local language. I'm sure in Budapest no Brit would struggle with Bejárat and Kijárat as they walked towards a door. (Entrance, exit).

@deianap @g_gosden @BrexitBuster Yes. I love the River Avon, using Welsh 'afon' for river (where 'f' in Welsh is 'v' in English). So literally bilingual River River!

@benjyminty @floboflo @desmonddolan Honi soit qui mal y pense Dieu et mon droit And the Prince of Wales has: Ich dien. And Rupert Lowe is worried about signage. Foreigners have taken over our Royal Family. Panic!

@mcpoole84 @BBCPolitics Exactly. Just look at the history of UKIP and the physical punch ups. And Ben Habib. Their nature is disruptors and opposers. Big on slogans, poor on detail. That doesn't transfer into team work and governing. Quite the reverse.

@JoeBLynam @fbermingham Exactly. Just as shutting off USAID to poorer countries opens the door to China, who already have a big influence in eg Africa, to become more dominant. It's strategically nonsense for the US long-term.

@PippaCrerar 'Doing media' is one of the most fundamental parts of the role of Leader of the Opposition and PM. If Badenoch doesn't like it, maybe LOTO is not her thing. That Starmer also appears not to like/be good at it is rather depressing for the country.

@LukeTryl But yes, it needs to be justified. It shouldn't just be automatic entry based on quotas. Pre-degree courses are the other legitimate way to overcome that barrier, but how people from disadvantaged groups fund that is now a problem.

@llesisklaarvoor @frenthegeordie @seatsixtyone No, he was talking about multilingual signs on roads and other transport locations too. Those are invariably aimed at tourists. Or like the 4 language "Drive on the left" signs on the A14 at Felixstowe lorry drivers too. He just doesn't like anything foreign.

@RpsAgainstTrump Don't forget UK supermarket prices include all taxes. £2.79 is what we pay at the till. Taxes are never added at the till in the UK.

@adampayne26 @ThinksInsight Plus they are saying they want to sack a huge number of civil servants. But let's not forget within days of the referendum Farage was calling for us to leave the EU with no deal that very week. He wants chaos.

@ArthurPewtey68 @reformexposed Except Reform want to kill off the Tories. A desperate coalition after the election? Maybe. But the Tories with experience in government wouldn't be able to play second fiddle to Farage as PM. Any of these routes lead to chaos and fighting.
