This made me realize how lucky we were to come back 3-0 from the sharks, I always knew it was hard but the fact we pulled it off is unbelievable. It changed the legacy of those Darryl Sutter Kings teams, without that series they’d be looked at as a fluke instead of a dynasty.

I’m 1000% on team buyout PLD. Even after 1 year, this guy has never been an $8.5M player, he never will be. His career high was only 63 points. I was hoping PLD’s game would continue to take positive turns but it didn’t and paying $1.1M for 14 years is better than having him.
$1.13 mill cap hit for 14 years, but it would free up over $7 mill in cap space for the next 7 years.
It would also save the team $31.6 mill in actual money.
It seems to me you can find a better player than Dubois in free agency for that $7 mill in cap savings.

No, we got Gavrikov from that trade who’s easily our best LHD. Quick wasn’t having a good season last year and we needed a trade in order to make the playoffs. Not to mention both of the other Kings LHDs (Anderson and Englund) both stink this season.

The Kings should be better next season with Brandt Clarke (hopefully) and a better Byfield. I believe even Vilardi could hit another level because in this playoff series he showed he can be dominant. As long as Kopitar doesn’t slow down I think we’ll improve.

The Kings turned Alex Iafallo/Matt Roy into quality players when both were undrafted. Kempe is on the verge of becoming a back-to-back 30 goal scorer, Vilardi has an elite 2 way game (I have charts to prove it) while on a 30 goal pace. The notion we can’t develop is fake af.
