This kind gentleman in Homs, Syria is a Christian. His area was taken over by US backed "moderate rebels" who drove all the Christians out. Many returned after the terrorists were defeated but now face poverty b/c of US sanctions. Even so he insisted on me sharing his breakfast.

My dear friend's uncle was killed in that attack. He was an Air Force Colonel who'd been fighting ISIS for years in Deir Ezzor. ISIS hadn't succeeded in killing him - but DJT did. The US has been torturing Syria for 12 years. Stop the torture - US get out of Syria now! 🇸🇾🇸🇾🇸🇾

If we could run a real survey of a cross-section of Americans on this, my guess would be far less than 1% would know the US is illegally occupying one third of Syria and stealing 80% of Syria's oil - while continually increasing impoverishing sanctions against it.

Another reminder as Ukraine "defends democracy for the whole world" ironically by not holding elections in war-time (also closing churches, making opposition illegal etc) that Syria held not 1 but 2 elections during the war. The turnout+vote in Lebanon affirmed the vote in Syria.

I was in Aleppo soon after its liberation from al Qaeda, and Deir Ezzor when it was just freed from ISIS. The US/allies were helping both al Qaeda & ISIS - while this man, Iran's General Soleimani, was critical in the fight against them. Trump murdered him 3 years ago. RIP sir.
