For me, this is the WORST line in Obi Wan. It's proof that the writers don't understand what came before. It suggests he had a thing for Padme, and therefore Anakin was right and justified. WTF. 🤦🏼♀️

This is one of the worst takes I’ve seen on George Lucas. More so than his skills as a filmmaker, he understands history and society. He studied anthropology in college and the political messages he incorporated in Star Wars is a BIG part of why it resonated with so many.

George Lucas struggles with dialogue, we all know this and he admits it’s not his strength and that he’s a visual filmmaker vs a literary filmmaker. It’s a more obvious flaw, but that’s just one aspect of filmmaking. He doesn’t get enough credit for what he excels at.
