This right here is the core of what makes Frieren, both the character and the show itself, so compelling. They can absolutely dominate in terms of spectacle and action, but its the way the series portrays how people find meaning in life that makes one of the best anime ever made.
Frieren has difficulty understanding emotions because her thought process differs significantly from those with shorter lifespans. After telling Fern to forget about her staff, she regretted it and took the initiative to search the entire town for a shop that could repair it.

A lot of people genuinely seem to miss the point that locations and textures aren't where the focus on Pokemon's visuals is places, thats the character designs of both the mons and human characters. BOTW copy pastes the same 2 dozen monster models across its entire map by. .
Oh, and this is a good time to drop a reminder that Breath of the Wild was a Wii U game. BotW runs on a console released nearly 10 years ago. While that itself is absolute sorcery, it also puts this into perspective.
