Split the Pauper Challenge with everyone's favourite meme deck Dredge! Had a great run with not a lot of graveyard hate. The exhume package seems pretty good and the rest of the deck just did what it usually does. Not used to 7 round challenges. It's 3am here and I'm beat.

Pauper Showcase metagame. Looks like the Paupergeddon performance made everyone choose the Lizards. Gardens had a killer weekend after almost becoming extinct thanks to a decent matchup against Broodscale. People are saying blue is dead, but all 3 versions of Terror did well.

Split another Pauper Challenge. This time with a deck I put together in 3 minutes because I wanted to play with new cards. Rites only got cast once, so maybe it is just bad. Sideboard is a mess as well. We are now in the era of the 8 Inspector. Be ready.

13th in the Pauper Showcase with Turbofog. Deck has a great game against the main players in the format currently (Boros, Affinity, Fae, Burn) and it payed off, almost. Didn't get there on breakers and had a loss to the mirror of all things. Put Flaring Pain in your SB people!

Couldn't play the Pauper Challenge last night but managed watched the replays. The winning deck (made by Tribe specialist Zoohn) is a real spicy one. Shame Basilisk Gate is so hard to find. Would love to give it a try. You thought that 2018 Acid Trip was wild, this is even better

Made top 8 of the challenge with Breathless Gates. I think this is the decks best performance so far. Thought it would be good against Caw Gates, but as soon as I played against it I lost handily. Happy how it handled the field, maybe someone else will finally pick up the deck.

Split the finals in the Saturday Challenge after months of no top 8. Red and Affinity are everywhere, so you take the deck that can beat it. Got real lucky with my Broodscale wins as that is a bad matchup, but my draws were aggressive and they just drew air.

After several top 16 performances over the past month, finally managed to top 8, then takedown (with a split in the finals) the Pauper Challenge with Turbofog. Managed to get some weird pairings and somehow beat Familiars twice. Think I am finally happy with this maindeck.

First Pauper Challenge weekend with MH3! Affinity was the clear front runner for deck to beat and everyone came packing the hate. Kuldotha drops off the face of the earth and gets replaced as Hexproof and Madness as the aggro decks of choice. Orzhov Blade is finally good?

Won the Pauper Challenge with pproteus' take on Boros Synth. The Recruits were okay, but didn't really help in any of my matchups. The manabase was pretty smooth though which is what helped me come out on top. That and 4 Affinity matchups with 4 Dust to Dust.

Here's a wrap-up of this weekends Pauper Challenges, revealing the matchup data that I gather. Golgari Broodscale seems to be the deck to beat with no obviously bad matchups. Elves also had a great weekend thanks to pairing into U Terror (6-0!) and RG Eldrazi (4-0!).

Pauper Challenge meta this weekend. Roughly the same meta percentages as the showcase but the top decks don't have the positive win rate. Dredge and Blue Terror were the surprise winners this weekend. Goblin Combo also continues stacking wins thanks to the strength of the pilots

Pauper Challenge meta over the 4 challenges this weekend (no showcase). Meta share looks similar to showcase. Hexproof looks the place to be with the influx of Red and Boros. Goblin Combo had a heck of a weekend. Fae and UW Glitters continue to fall.

Ended up 4th in the Pauper challenge after going 6-0 in the swiss. Deck seems great against Tron and is a breath of fresh air into the format. Draws just didn't line up for me in the end, but deck is gas and happy where I ended up.

Here is the meta breakdown of the Pauper Showcase. Thought it was large enough for its own post. Kuldotha and Boros were in large numbers with pretty decent winrates. Surprise influx of Jeskai as well. Turbofog and Cawgates still criminally underplayed for their win rate.

Pauper Super Qualifier Meta. Cawgates continues it's strong performance with it's increasing amount of players. Gruul Ponza negative overall even though it won the whole thing. Affinity is still very strong, which is scary when you consider what it gets in MH3

Saturday Pauper Challenge Meta. Lots of players picked up UR Control after its win yesterday and it did come 2nd, but had an overall losing win%. Toxin Analysis Affinity wins, which should pick up to improve the Gruul matchup. Kuldotha has almost left the challenge meta for now.

Managed to split the finals of the Saturday Pauper Challenge again with Turbofog. Switched the 8K to other sources of card advantage since graveyard hate was everywhere. Unsure if this is better, but it performed well today.

Top 8 in the Pauper Challenge with Red Fog. The red was to help against Mono U, which it did. I lost the die roll in top 8 and had some real awkward hands against the perfect blitz draws. Real happy with how the deck performs in the current meta.

Got a Top 4 in the Pauper Challenge with a

classic; Boros Ephemerate. I felt it had all the tools to deal with the current meta and seemed to be correct. Only lost to the same Caw Gates Pilot twice. Really need to add some Ghostfire, Guardian is hard to beat.

Pauper Challenge meta over the weekend. Kuldotha has started to break away as the clear deck to beat. Familars had the best winrate thanks to several top 8's (and 2 wins). Every control deck that isn't UB seems to doing well. NOTE: Izzet Control went 10-2 against Kuldotha.

2nd Place in the Pauper Challenge today, with the same deck that failed me the day before (2-4). Happy I gave it another chance, I think it was just bad variance. Deck thrives in a Burn meta. The change of cutting Kor Skyfisher for Deadly Dispute was a great idea, thanks Youtube!

Sunday Pauper Challenge Meta. Kuldotha came back to win the challenge. Broodscale was the only high play % deck this challenge to have a positive win rate. The Naya gates deck looks pretty interesting. Elves continues to perform in this Affinity heavy meta somehow.

Pauper Challenge Meta this weekend. Cawgates finally becomes the most played deck with pretty strong win rate. U Terror also surged after a good weekend last weekend. Both of these decks are strong against Affinity, thus most of the Affinity pilots changed to Gardens on Sunday.

Friday Pauper Challenge Meta. Unsure if it was because of me last week but White Weenie finally gets the uptick in play % it deserves in this Kuldotha/Affinity meta. This plus Broodscale makes Gardens a good deck to pick up again.

Made Top 8 of the Pauper challenge playing the matchup lottery. Elves is great against all the decks that are trying to beat Affinity, but terrible against Affinity. Luck was there in the first couple of rounds, ran out in the end.

Meta. Affinity has come back in a big way now that Glitters is gone. Kuldotha is still doing alright even with the amount of hate directed at them. I'd expect a lot of Cawgates and Affinity moving forward, both trying to out-sideboard each other.

's take on storm into the pauper challenge today with no practice and managed to get to top 4, losing only to the same U delver pilot. That matchup seems rough, but everything else is easy enough. Don't sleep on Galvanic Relay, card is busted.

Saturday Challenge Meta. Kuldotha resurgence is still real. The single deck top 8's are back with Jeskai and Dredge having good runs. The two Broodscale decks keep exchanging win rate every challenge, so expect them both to stick around in around equal numbers.

Usually only post top 8 lists, but have been really enjoying trying to get Tortex back into the limelight. Went 4-2, with all my wins being clean 2-0's. Deck is still bad against glitters and red, but if you play against a lot of Ux Midrange and Gardens then this deck works well

Friday Pauper Challenge Meta. UR Control took down the whole thing and another pilot was just outside top 8. Elves also managed to top 8, thanks to dodging affinity. Broodscale is increasing its metashare and the golgari version is the one people seem to be converging on.

Can't show Pauper meta challenge last weekend because of MTGO not posting decklists. The Sunday 64 challenge didn't fire because of Paupergeddon. So all I have is the Saturday challenge that I participated in to watch the replays. It's either win fast, have bridges or ponza.

Top 8 Pauper Challenge with Squirrelstorm. I like the UR version more than the Black version as it feels more resilient to hate, even if it is less explosive. The meta has become even more narrow because of storm. UB Fae and Affinity are the next best decks to stand a chance.

Managed to Top 8 the Pauper Challenge with my take of Alvatar's Naya Gates. Only loss was to the same deck where it can't win once all the Basilisk Gates are gone. Deck is super sweet and will post a video of a league run with it soon. God knows how I beat Tron twice.

Pauper Challenge meta over the weekend. Kuldotha still over 20% but at least now has a losing win rate. All Glitters decks had a good showing and Walls finally goes positive. Gruul Ponza finally gets a top 8 after so long and it's still not enough for a positive winrate overall.

Finally got a Top 8 in a Pauper Challenge after what feels like forever. Goblin Combo feels just really good in the format, like it can get hated out, but sometimes you just have it. I like Sledder as it can allow you to win through a Strands and is just quicker on the clock.

Sunday Pauper Challenge Meta. Probably the most even spread of decks we've seen so far this season. Elves found a way to shock everyone this challenge by preying on matchup rolls (went 6-0 against White Weenie). Imagine White Weenie's win percentage if that wasn't there.

Sunday Pauper Challenge Meta. People really decided to bring the brews today. So many different archetypes. Spellstutter makes top 8 in a non-fae list and Hexproof comes back for 2 top 8's. Weird to see the top 3 decks of the challenge have such a poor win rate.

Saturday Pauper Challenge Meta. The surge of WW is real, but expected which led to the drop of Kuldotha and the return of Turbofog. Terror (U and UB) had an absolutely dominating performance with 4 spots in the top 8. I'd expect it would be the next deck to rise.

Friday Pauper Challenge Meta. As much as last week showed diversity, there is one deck that stands above the rest. Blue Terror was the only deck that had a positive winrate against Affinity this challenge. People are packing the SB hate, but sometimes it just doesn't matter.

Pauper Challenge meta last weekend. The ban of Glitters has made midrange/control decks rise. Cawgates has never been played this much before. Decks that are good against these have risen in winrate (Poison, Proliferate, Walls, Tron, Ponza). Showcase meta will be interesting.

Saturday Pauper Challenge Meta. The Gruul Ramp deck is still performing really strongly, and shows that you should not be on Ponza. Affinity dropped off after it's bad performance yesterday. Gardens is trying out Chrysalis, but it isn't helping.

Sunday Pauper Challenge Meta. The single Hexproof (Bogles) won the whole thing. Gruul Cascade had nice influx of pilots and still went positive. Gardens came back today after being nearly absent the rest of the weekend, to just get dumpstered (1-6) by Affinity.

Finally got another Top 8 in a Pauper Challenge, with what is essentially a meme. Lots of blue decks in the format though, so was a good choice (Only losses were to the non-blue decks I played). Never count the little birdies out. They come in packs.

Pauper Challenge Meta over the weekend. Cawgates now has a target on its head and finally dipped below 50%. A lot of caw pilots shifted over to Dimir Fae on Sunday, maybe they were sick of the mirror? Affinity goes into MH3 on top, we must fear our robot overlords.

Saturday Pauper Challenge Meta. The Terror was out in force to try and stop affinity and both managed to do well. Real winner of the day was Gruul Cascade (Ponzaless Ponza) which seems to be favoured against both. Expect this to be next deck to spike in popularity.

Pauper Challenge meta for Friday. Meta continues to shift, but increase in red may be due to the double queue with the Sealed Super qualifier. The Madness winrate is pretty funny and something you wouldn't be able to see if you only saw WotCs curated top 32.

Decklists still aren't being posted so here is the meta of the Saturday Pauper 32 challenge. Kuldotha has come back from nowhere, while hexproof has gone. Jund Broodscale seems to be taking off and did 9-0 this challenge. Meta seems to be adjusting but control is still dead.

Never usually post challenge results that aren't top 8, but I accidentally registered a deck that was 4 years old with some very suboptimal cards. I was just happy to get my money back, let alone top 16 (came 14th). Reddit is going to have a field day with this one.

Got a Top 8 in the Pauper Challenge with Red Fog. I don't think the Swiftspear ban has done too much to the meta, I just got lucky matchups. Needed to cut the relics and put in some deglamer to have a chance against UW Glitters. Deck get too big too fast with counter backup.

Wrap-Up of this weekends Pauper Challenges. Kuldotha came back to pick on Broodscale decks which let the Tier 2 decks also have a decent weekend by having to not deal with as much Broodscale. The 5-0 to Dredge over Affinity is funny, must have left their Nihil Spellbombs behind.

Took out the Pauper Challenge tonight with a clean 9-0! Everyone assumed Boros Monarch was dead, but the king shall not have his crown taken! Lucky to play against Fae and Burn mostly, which the deck just eats up. So happy to finally get a win after 3 top 8's in a row.

Pauper Challenge meta over the weekend. Red losing metashare is probably due to the backup 32 Challenge no longer existing. Gardens was the most played deck before Sunday. Jeskai Ephem had it's worst weekend in forever and Dimir Terror has had a bit of a resurgence.

Sunday Pauper Challenge Meta. The Gruul ramp players have taken over. Have also decided to split Broodscale into Jund and Golgari as their matchup spread is pretty different. They both performed very well. Izzet Blitz comes to top 8 after not being seen for years.

Got a Top 8 in a pretty small Pauper Challenge (43 Players). Decided to play a fun deck, Cascade Walls! It's pretty good against mono U and okay enough against Red that I thought it was good enough to run. It's amazing how quickly it can vomit out creatures.

Friday Pauper Challenge Meta. 3 different 1-of decks managed to top 8 (all base green interestingly). Gruul Cascade seems to be the choice over Ponza now thanks to it's good Affinity and U Terror matchups. Broodscale is sneakily becoming the best pauper deck IMO.

Managed to come 12th (4-2) in the Pauper Challenge trying a new variation on Turbofog. I didn't realise what gates I put in and🔥actively ruined my manabase🔥. The access to red was nice and did win me a couple of games. The treasure makers were great though.

Trying out different colours in the GW base gate deck as red sometimes doesn't do anything. Managed to 5-0 with the blue version on the first try. Went 3-3 in the challenge with it as well. May need an extra land, but it is good to see MullyD back.

Finished 6-2 at the ANZ Super Series with Rakdos Sac, good for top 16. Deck is still great, even though it wasn't my first choice of deck, but my other cards didn't arrive in time. Happy to finally have a good paper result to my name 😁

Friday Pauper Challenge Meta. Rumours of both Gardens and Kuldothas death have been greatly exaggerated. Both have managed to thrive thanks to the uptick in Broodscale Combo. Dimir Fae made a surprise guest appearance even though it couldn't really convert.

Just missed out on Top 8 on breakers (finished 9th) in the Pauper Challenge. Trying Initiative Walls because Boarding Party has not felt great in this meta. Deck was good, but just cannot beat a Guardian of the Guildpact.

Heh, managed to Top 8 again with the Maindeck Pyros again. They were a detriment this time though, only playing against 1 blue deck. Felt I was pretty lucky most of the day, but back-to-back top 8's is pretty sweet.

Had terrible breakers, but managed to 4-2 the Pauper Challenge with a new version of Food Gates. I think Gatecreeper is great as it gets the best card in the deck, then you can just sac it to draw cards. Decent matchup against most of the meta, keen to play more.

Saturdays Challenge Meta. White Weenie had an absolute tear, while the other two Skyfisher decks had a real bad time. Caw gates continues its redemption arc. Red still high meta %, so the Friday challenge wasn't an outlier.

Went 6-2 in the Pauper PTQ with Food Gates. Lost early due to poor mulligan decisions so my breakers wouldn't get me top 8. Brain is a bit foggy for these 1am events. Deck is criminally underplayed when it has a decent matchup against the 4 main decks of the format.

Came 8th in the pauper challenge today with reliable fog. Teched for Mono U and Mono R and didn't see either of them. I probably could have played tighter in top 8 but it's been a long day and my mind was failing me.

Been away for a while, but back at pauper again with Atogshift feat. Galvanic Relay. Managed to get the 5-0 first try. Took it to the challenge and went 3-3. Deck seems great against any midrange deck (without Dust to Dust) and does okay against aggro. SB still needs work.

Since I wasn't in day 2 of the Champs I decided to try out the Pauper Showcase Qualifier and lost the win-and-in to end up 12th. I have become everything I have hated playing Tron, but when Affinity keeps being the boogyman you need to teach them a lesson with 12 SB cards.

's Madness Affinity was my choice for this Initiative infested challenge as they can't handle burn, and Kitchen Imp is a good way to steal Initiative. Myr Enforcer deals with everything else.

Managed to finally get a top 8 of a challenge (6th) after a long while. Brought my faithful Orzhov Basilica along as I didn't see too many Tron pilots queuing up. Started and ended the day with losses to the big Tron menace but I got to have some fun interactive games otherwise.

Left the house and won a small 20 player Pioneer RCQ after a 4 hour car trip. Feels good to get a win in paper again. Showdown was easy MVP.

. It was bound to happen after the 0-7 start. Managed to go 4-3 day 2 though, so at least I went positive there. Winota went 3-1 in Pioneer to help me save face. Big thanks to all that hosted and participated, I had a fun time!

Went 7-2 in the Pioneer Super with the new Premier Aggro deck of the format. Also went 4-1 in 2 leagues as practice before the event. Only matchup that feels bad is UB, but even then you can eek out some wins. Who knew Ancestral Anger would be a defining VOW card?

Pauper is still in a miserable state, so haven't been playing it much. Managed to 5-0 with an apas walls list from the walls discord. My league run makes you assume this was a healthy meta. SB Counterspells need to go. Rift Sower and Secret Door have been surprisingly decent.

Managed to get my constructed token going 5-0 in Vintage Play-In with Blue Aggro Shops I stole from

. I played terribly but the luck gods were on my side. Format seems fun, might play more at a later date. Sided in TKS every match, never cast 1. Seems good though.

Breakers failed me and 3 of my opponents got top 8 when I got 10th in the challenge. Took this aarong ephem deck that they have been having success with. I still don't know how it wins, but there is something here. Nice to play with Thraben Inspector again.

After trying different decks last month and 2-4ing with all of them, switched back to fog and get rewarded with a top 4. Meta is still hostile for fog, but luck went my way. Didn't even need to change the list from last time.

After going 1-3 drop with the same deck in the SPTQ last week and then starting this challenge at 0-2. I am very happy that I managed to win 4 in a row to claw myself into 16th place. I like combo more than cascade walls in the current meta. 61st card was MVP (14th forest).

Trying out some memes in other formats and found this Calibrated Blast Modern deck from

. Managed a 4-1 first try. Added some forests, which helped cast some turn 3 Scion's. Deck is pretty gas, just expect to mulligan a lot.

Tried my luck in the MOCS Open and managed to make it to top 4 until my luck ran out against legend

. Sealed deck was great, draft deck not so much. Didn't see any bomb cards so had to try and win synergy. Couldn't outgrind the Fae Offering. Was a good run though :)

Took a brew that

has been working on into the challenge. Managed to recover from 0-3 to 3-3 for 23rd place. Also managed to 5-0 a league just before the challenge to show the deck has legs. Deck also seems to draw an obscene amount of cards for a not blue deck.
