We've cut trade school programs out of public high schools and have severe deficits for tradesmen/women. These people could be employed TODAY making a great, living wage with benefits. As a country, we'd rather overpay people in minimal skill, entry level jobs. Self-destruction.

This has been the situation for a number of years. It was a big mistake to remove trades classes from high schools. Our country suffers from the shortage.
We need to be promoting trade schools with as much passion as promoting colleges...
We don't need anymore indoctrinated college graduates flipping fries..
We need more Truck Drivers, Welders, HVAC Technicians, Mechanics, Plumbers, etc..
