griffith having a real choice during the eclipse is something that makes the story so much better. I hate the "forced by fate"trope but its clear that the only thing destined for griffith WAS to be in that place at that time. He had the choice to say no and he didnt.

berserk is horrible at depicting SA towards women and it's one of the only things i hold against kentaro miura; there are other ways you can give similar amounts of shock value while still being visually respectful of these things.
