As of today, Dark Samus' animations have been finished, so to celebrate, have a bite-sized Final Smash preview. Not everything about it is done, so it's just a basic demonstration (the timer is also shorter, so I can have a short clip; the actual duration is 4 times longer).

Since all of Sceptile's Specials were revealed, I'll now be showing off a general mechanic. That being a unique wall cling. Comparable to Knuckles (and Dark Samus), Sceptile can stick to walls and climb them. It can cling while jumping, falling, or using Side Special.

Today, I present to you Sceptile's Final Smash! 𝐅𝐨𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐆𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐢𝐚𝐧'𝐬 𝐖𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐡! This is an original move, in which Sceptile casts a glare, dashing to the closest foe within its sight, unleashing a flurry of attacks before launching them with a devastating Solar Beam.

In regards to Sceptile, I've been working on something neat for the past few days (with help from @kapadanii ). That being integrating a custom unlock condition in Subspace. This has the player carry a seed, and throw it into a patch of dirt, climbing the vine which grows from it.

Previously, Down Special's impact effects were just generic explosions (colored blue), but now, they've been completely overhauled to better reference the source material (IE: Dark Samus' dive-bomb attack from her Prime 2 boss fight).

Keeping things going, here's arguably the most technical move in Sceptile's kit. Down Special has it plant or toss (air/ground dependent) a seed. Once planted, the seed will sprout after a bit. If the sprout hits, it'll turn into an orb, which'll return to Sceptile and heal it.

With the advent of ItemEx and help from @MarioDox_MODS (this wouldn't have been possible without his help), Sceptile's Leech Seed has been overhauled to make use of item-exclusive features, with the end result being something truly unique.

Yesterday, I said that Dark Samus' Final Smash had 4 attack options, but only showed off 3. Today, that changes, now that both visuals and audio for this specific move are done. So here's the 4th attack option: a giant laser that instantly ends the Final Smash state.

Continuing the trend of custom items, here's something I've been working on this week: It's Mallow's Snowy spell! This item slides around when hit, and you can even stand on it. It bursts into ice when destroyed normally, but turns into a slippery puddle when destroyed by fire.

Today, we have Up Special. It's a two-part move, in which the first part is straight-forward, but during the middle of the attack, the Special Button can be pressed again to enter the second part, in which Sceptile plummets to the ground.

Since P+ revealed something Metroid Prime-related, I'll do the same. Dark Samus is still in development, and her Final Smash has been tweaked, so Prime Essence is more accurate (material edits made by @KingDraco777 ). The aura effect shown here was taken from @StupidMarioFan1 .

I can't believe it's been over 6 months since the last Sceptile progress update. Don't worry, the project's still in development. Here's an experimental mechanic for Leech Seed (made possible by @MarioDox_MODS ) which makes it stick to an opponent struck directly by the seed.

In regards to Dark Samus' Final Smash, the move has 4 different attack options. Here, I'm showing off three of them (no audio because we're still working on sounds). The first is a basic dash, the second is its orange wave attack, and the third has it spawn Fission Metroids.

From the last time I showed off Leech Seed's overhaul, I've continued to improve upon it. Now, it's more visually clean (IE: less GFX clutter), on-top of the stem itself having physics (thanks for the idea, @KingDraco777 ).

A couple of bonus clips. One being Leech Seed can now ricochet off walls, and Leaf Storm now rotates to match a floor's angle if touching one (thanks to @MarioDox_MODS for helping out with this one in particular).

Here it is, everyone. I give you Sceptile's Final Smash (currently lacks sound effects)! It casts off a glare, dashing towards the first opponent caught in its gaze, punishing them with a flurry of strikes before being sent away by a powerful Solar Beam!

Finishing off Sceptile's Specials, here's Side Special. It's very straight-forward, but has many applications. It's a burst movement option with specific interrupts (attack, jump, or grab), and can even be angled (the direction is dependent on air/ground state).

Today, we have Up Taunt. Sceptile picks up a stick, puts it in its mouth, then spits it out after a bit. Similarly to Snake's cigarette taunt, Sceptile can jump-cancel to keep the stick in its mouth. But wait, there's more: The stick is an item! You can do a lot with this stick.

Here's something I toyed around with for roughly 3 days. Who's that Pokemon? It's Magmortar! It fires off a total of 5 Fire Blasts before disappearing, and even turns to face a potential target. It also launches those who touch it, so be careful!

Though if you want something truly unique, then take a look at Neutral Special. You have to charge to get it, but in return, you gain access to a powerful projectile. The bulbs on Sceptile's back will brighten as the move gains more charge.

A few weeks ago, I started playing the Ratchet and Clank games. So obviously, I wanted to bring some form of it into Brawl. Lo and behold: The Miniturret! ᴳˡᵒᵛᵉ ⁿᵒᵗ ᶦⁿᶜˡᵘᵈᵉᵈ. Featuring aiming, firing, and exploding! If you're quick enough, you can even pick it up!

Here's another seed-related move. This time, it's Up Throw. Sceptile tosses its victim upward before firing 3 seeds at them. If a seed misses, it'll fall and potentially strike the thrown player on their way down.

Some context, as I was the one who coded this. This will only happen 1% of the time (99% of the time, it'll just be a weak hit with fixed KB), so you likely won't see this in regular gameplay. It was added because MKHT thought it would be funny, and he'd be right in that regard.

Progress on Sceptile is slowly making its way, so have a Kirby hat presentation in the meantime (animations are a placeholder). Similar to how he only gets one Solar Beam when inhaling Ivysaur, Kirby only gets one Leaf Storm when inhaling Sceptile. Hat model by @Xenthalos .

Sceptile has not one, but two moves which bounce on contact, with the second one being Down Air. It's not shown here, but unlike Dash Attack, Down Air will still bounce, even if shielded (at the cost of added lag if bouncing off a shielding player).

We'll continue the showcase by going back to regular attacks. Here's Sceptile's Dash Attack. It has the unique property of bouncing off a stricken foe (it will not bounce if hitting their shield). Alternatively, the player can prevent the bounce if holding down.

Today, we'll start with Side Tilt. It's a turnaround punch which packs both speed and power. You can hold the Attack Button to delay the move to increase its damage and knockback. Sharp-eyed fans of a certain Bandai Namco title should recognize where this move originates from.

For the upcoming P+ update, the Hammer Bros. Assist Trophy will be receiving some neat changes. You can now pick it up (it throws hammers when held), throw it, and even knock it around! Carry animation by @survivian_ . Thanks to @kapadanii for helping with hurtbox stuff.

It appears the children yearn for the funny lizard. This was done a few months ago, but @QuickLava suggested that grounded Side Special be able to interrupt into run. I did that and added something extra. Now, a run-canceled Side Special grants Sceptile increased running speed.

Even after a decade, we're still finding new things! @Eon_TAS found some PSA commands to set the translation, rotation, or scale of any bone. In this example, you can see everything take place, using poor Mario as the guinea pig (I'm using the control stick to adjust the values).

You're seeing it here, fellas. Ridley updates in 2023. Previously, when the scrape was executed during Side Special, it'd use the same effects (with some added on-top). Now, it uses its own effects altogether. The effects were also changed with the base version to be more unique.

Taking a break from Sceptile to present some Dark Samus gameplay. Not only that, but also a showcase of the work in progress Phaaze stage (by @NezhaScout ). This match is only 2 stocks, due to the sheer size of this stage (and also to keep the length within the 140 second limit).

From a conceptual conversation I've had with others, I present to you all a proof-of-concept for an overhauled swimming mechanic. This features the following: -Tripled swim timer. -Ceiling stall prevention. -Water Dashing. -Water Attacking. -Water Diving (with stall prevention).

It's finally happening. Ridley now receives his own trophy, has his own ending video, and ending screen. I've already shown off two of these, but up until recently, the video aspect wasn't possible. Hopefully, this will serve to better integrate new characters into the roster.

So it turns out adding new trophies (without replacing anything) is insanely easy. However, more research is needed to see the ramifications this could have on user saves (IE: NAND stuff). In the meantime, have an example of the tech in practice.

I understand the comparisons made to Cloud's Up Special, but the inspiration behind it was lifted more from Pokken, as you can see in this clip here. Even then, I'm running a neat experiment, which'll make this move more unique if it ends up sticking around.
