Max gets rejected, then uses her powers to date a different version of Amanda. This writing feels seriously off-putting. #LifeIsStrange #SecretsOfCaledon

@eggbertith Vi’s character suffers because her personality and values take a backseat to the plot. She’s written to fit the story, rather than the story being built around her.

It’s almost impressive to create a game where the main character has zero meaningful growth from start to finish, and the story has absolutely nothing of substance to say. But hey, at least we got one of the worst romances ever made. #LifeIsStrange #SecretsOfCaledon

@totalgamer66860 He's a first-class douchebag, and Amanda has the charisma of a wet blanket. Somehow, you can be an asshole and date both of them. Max comes off as weirdly horny throughout the game, and the romance is pretty terrible even if you forget about Chloe. Weird game.

@atiralexx It was hinted before that Cait bringing girls home wasn't exactly something new. So, I would guess Cait approached her.

@krissibarks Yeah, it’s not a good look. And it was a conscious choice—Vi had done nothing but support her up until that point. Vi stopped her from possible killing a child. I'll like to see anyone defend Cait here.

@LifeIsStrange One of the most upvoted posts on the Life is Strange subreddit this year, we all miss Chloe and Max. They should have been a part of DE.

@atiralexx I don't think that's really up for debate. Everyone knows they're endgame - the writers have practically confirmed it. What people should be concerned about is the journey getting there, instead of placing blind faith in the writers.

@Noobletariat Interesting perspective. However, I can’t help but feel you’ve put more thought into this than the writers ever did.

@KENOASTRAL This game is so cringe and horny. And it gets worse later. Who is this game even for? Really horny people apparently.

@LifeIsStrange It’s really not that complicated. We, the fans, loved the story of Max and Chloe—it resonated with us deeply. You can’t just break that bond apart because you want to use Max for other stories. Do the right thing and fix this.

@LISFansDotCom Life is Strange is basically turning into X-Men now, and it's easily the worst game in the series. It’s almost impressive how badly it's written, like they missed every point the original was built on.

@P1vsTheWorld Worst is by far Double Exposure. Best. I really like both Life is Strange, and Before to Storm. Hard to decide. Tie, maybe?.

@MaxCrackfield They really made some strange choices with Max in this game. The way she cheats and seems to love being the center of attention feels like someone’s self-insert fantasy.

@nicefieldSFM No. It really makes no sense. There are so many inconsistencies and retcons, and the plot is really poorly written. It's kind of embarrassing. .

@P1vsTheWorld I find that hard to believe. This doesn’t feel like a well-planned plot at all—it’s more like they just threw things at the wall to see what would stick.

@AnikaNabbed @nicefieldSFM I noticed the same thing—those critical reviews actually have substance. The rest? Just empty praise about how great it is, without a single concrete example.

@shqkabrah Chloe is a complex, interesting character and the love of Max's life. Safi, on the other hand, is a knockoff of Chloe who just wants to become a god. Safi could have been developed so much better.

@LifeIsStrange She’s great, but the game is terrible. Don’t buy it, let the series end here. Don’t let them butcher Max and Chloe any further.

@shadydoorags It’s okay—media literacy can be challenging, and Chloe is a complex character. But if that’s your take, you’ve really missed out on an interesting character.

@P1vsTheWorld That woman has no shame or integrity. Making a marvel game centered around Max is not meaningful.

@DONTNOD_Michel We are upset about how they’re handling Max and Chloe, especially with how incredibly disrespectful they’ve been to Chloe’s character. They created a game, and we’re simply telling them we don’t like what they’ve done with characters that meant so much to so many of us.

@DeckNineGames The writing falls short, the pacing is off, and there are too many plot holes and inconsistencies. The story lacks a clear message or theme, Safi isn’t all that interesting as a character, and Max’s trauma isn’t meaningfully explored. Chloe and Max should be forever.

@nonoobies Not surprising at all. Plenty of people were always going to buy the game. Guess we just have to accept that Max and Chloe are gone for good. This franchise is all about superheroes now, and we’ll keep getting more stories that are just as shallow and uninteresting.

@xxodejaxxo @thelittlenai This is from Max’s journal in the game. The story has two timelines, and she’s dating different people in each one because one of them wouldn’t date her in the other timeline. It’s optional, but it’s strange, it makes Max a cheater, and she gets caught doing it.

@PianniGilar @aymmgreen It would be interesting if they actually did something meaningful with it, but unfortunately, I think it’s just going to be rushed through. That said, I agree—for Maddie, it clearly is a relationship.

@Nekul_2 @KENOASTRAL @croftcaulfield @ByePricefield @AdnanRiaz9 Yeah, they're already setting up the narrative: now he's the victim of toxic fans. Never mind the fact that their marketing was straight-up dishonest.

@krissibarks It was really underwhelming. I’m sure they’ll talk a bit in the next episode, but I don’t expect it to last long. Honestly, it’s a bit disappointing.

@phildotspear You people are scum of the earth. No principles, only greed. Do you feel good about being part of making such a unwanted game? You people ruined something beautiful in the name of greed.

@P1vsTheWorld I dislike these people more and more with every new interview. There’s such a disconnect between how they talk about Safi and how she’s actually portrayed in the game. They should just have made a game about Safi as they clearly wanted.

@P1vsTheWorld I still think they’re about 30 years late to the whole superheroes and morality debate—it feels tired at this point. It’s also clear they’re infatuated with Safi, so why not just make a game about her? Why drag Max and Chloe into it and tarnish their story?.

@nicknyxx3 @eggbertith That’s not a very strong argument. A story is meant to consider the personalities and values of its characters, shaping their actions and reactions accordingly. When a character behaves in a way that goes against their established traits, the audience notices, it breaks immersion.

@bluesuns_ @Bleh1095 Most of Amanda’s comments about Arcane after season 1 focused on Caitlyn, often tying her character to being a womanizer. So, I think you’re absolutely right about that. Amanda might have been projecting a bit too much.

@stardewjxck I could understand a teenager writing this, but a 28-year-old? Come on—that’s just cringe.

@pricefieldchaos Yeah, the writing is just weird. I think what is worse for me is Max suddenly wanting to join Safi at the end, it makes zero narrative sense. Out of nowhere, she wants to become a god and rule the world with Safi?.

@P1vsTheWorld That statement doesn’t even make sense. You’ve removed Chloe from the game and are doing everything possible to dismantle Chloe and Max as a concept, all just to push a mediocre superhero cash grab.

@nicefieldSFM Honestly, I think you’re being too generous. The writing, pacing, and overall narrative arc are shockingly poor and shallow. It’s a real shame because there was a foundation here for some genuinely compelling storytelling.

@shadydoorags You set yourself up for this by defining her as "chaotic evil," an obvious oversimplification. There’s a reason she appears on so many lists of the greatest gaming characters ever created. You might not like her, but oversimplifying adds nothing meaningful to any discussion.

@priecfield Unfortunately, they'll get away with it and just repeat the cycle. The game doesn’t even have a proper ending, yet people are still buying in. So, the same crowd will line up for the next release, get the early access and pay for whatever cat DLC they throw in.

@KingCayenne @breakingdead1 @Ellski_Mae It’s bait, but lazy bait. That text message was terrible—after a 7-8 year relationship, just sending a quick “is everything okay?” feels so out of touch. They’re not even trying. If they can, they’ll drop Chloe entirely. She’ll only come back if the game underperforms.
