I’ve had 3 down valuations in the last week. Barclays now offering 0.17% above base tracker. That tells me to expect higher rates for longer and therefore lower prices. But it’s a slow motion car crash because all those fixed rates expire slowly over time, not at once.

To be fair that’s an extreme example. Most will see their mortgage payments go up around £400 - £600 per month. However that is undoubtedly still a huge hit to the economy. A base rate freeze at this level is still contracting demand every month. We don’t need any more rises
