@bjgingerich @CrankyFed Paul is using an illustration in 1 Cor. 10:2, 1 Peter is referencing the Flood of Noah. Which again is a picture and not a comparison to actual Baptism. We need to read the text as it is written. We don't force our beliefs into the text. Salvation is through Christ's work.

This is a reply to a comment I made today. If you are using Scripture out of context then you are not faithfully using the Scripture. Ex. 13:16 the LORD tells Moses that the people will cross the Red Sea on Dry Land. This is a historical occurrence, not a display of Baptism.

This was a comment made towards me, and the person blocked me so I could not reply. This is a common claim from Catholics, but it also defeats their own arguments. You see for Catholics to make their claim that the pope follows Peter they have to quote Scripture, the Bible.

There is a big difference between the occasional sin followed with repentance, and the willful choice to sin.
