My father passed away 1/8/2020. This photo was taken at Hargeisa Airport on their way to London to sign Somaliland Declaration of Independence. He was a principled and honorable patriot. For his children, he was simply a loving father who set high standards. Send Duca, thxs. AUN
Kaise Dualeh is a 3rd year student at Yale, & serves as President of the Yale International Relations Association. He is working as an intern in Senator Chris Murphy's office this summer. My brother Harbi had kindly shared these photos. A V. Proud Aunt!
Mahmoud (Ayanleh) Dualeh my younger brother's graduation from Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland. Double Major MBA/MSITS. He completed his degree working full time for a prestigious Law Firm in Washington, DC & married with kids. My mum is sharing in the blessing.
My father was an Oxford University college graduate. He was the first college graduate in Somaliland. He advocated for education, learning & development his entire life. He was still studying at the age of 90 with a dictionary in his hand. This is one of my last images of my dad.
In the last 3 years I learnt a great lesson about compassion, acceptance & gratitude. I battled breast cancer & survived, contracted COVID & survived, next was Blood Clots near my heart & Bronchitis. Also, lost my beloved dad. Tomorrow is not promised, don't waste it on hate!
If we want Somalia to develop, avoid duplicating the issues and problems of the past. Love your country first & foremost; Avoid viewing the World thru Qabil prism; Demand better of our leadership; Expect better from Society; Treat Women with Respect. This is just a start!
I recently joined Twitter and noticed a tremendous amount of educated, talented & passionate Somali's who can make a difference. The main issue is, we're speaking in Silos without a unifying cause. How do we leverage our interests & experience for the "common good". Any ideas?
Remembering my father, Ahmed Haji Dualeh Abdullah, affectionately known as Ahmed Kayse & the Legends who had signed Somaliland Independence in London - June 26, 1960.
Praying they are all Resting with the Angels in Paradise. Please remember them in your prayers.
AUN.
Started my new job & happily working from home. They're very passionate about the Environment: management, activists, lawyers, IT, media, development & fundraising experts, government advocates, working remotely across many States in the US and Mexico. Feeling lucky! Amen.
Congratulations to my nephew Kaise Dualeh, who is a 3rd year student at Yale, & serves as President of the Yale International Relations Association. He completed his summer internship, with Senator Chris Murphy and Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer. A proud aunt!
Integrity & principles matter. Allah Almighty rewards us, for our righteousness deeds. Just an hour ago, I was informed, I got the job of my dreams. This one I was completely passionate about & it's related to the environment. I'll be working from home. Alhamdullah 🙏
Today I had the honor, of presenting my Credentials to
@UN_Valovaya
. Appreciated the respect, grace and welcome extended by the Director-General of UN Geneva and her team. Looking forward to collaborating and working together.
Universities in Somalia should consider offering Debate Clubs as an extracurricular activity. Our schooling in UK & Abo (AU) would have us debate both sides of an issue. It instilled an appreciation, for opposing points of views & taught young people how to debate constructively.
Remembering my father, Ahmed Haji Dualeh Abdullah, affectionately known as Ahmed Kayse & all the Legends who had signed Somaliland Independence in London - June 26, 1960.
Praying they are all Resting with the Angels in Paradise.
Allahu Naxariisto. Amen
My last conversation with
@HonAminaMohamed
was last week. I was scared for her & asked her to leave Somalia for safety. She replied "when we all leave what about our youth" She said, "I trust in Allah & will not succumb to threats". Those words haunt me. Allahu Naxariiisto. Amen
I studied in private Catholic schools the majority of my life. It's didn't make me Catholic. I understand their teachings. However, once home, it was parents who instilled Islam, culture & tradition. Let's not underestimate the power & influence of parenting!
I started my twitter account mid-September 2021 As we herald a new government, today I hit 10,000 followers. Was never interested in a political appointment - MP nor Ministerial post. Just wanted peace, justice, and progress for our country and people.
So proud and hopeful!
Remember when my dad was an Ambassador. He called International Auditors before he commenced work and when he would leave a post. If we lost a spoon, he would give us hell & replace it. He would tell us, be respectful, you're guests of the Somali people. Good habits to learn!
My father believed in integrity, honor, principles & ideals for a greater and more united Somalia. We're trying to live up to the legacy. I am purely motivated, by my father's dream for Somalia. A peaceful Somalia founded on justice & fairness.
Hooyo & I are wholeheartedly, wishing you a Blessed and Joyful Eid. May Allah Almighty bestow his Mercy and blessings upon you and your families. Embrace Gratitude & Extend Kindness. Eid Mubarak to you & your families. Amen
I am positive by nature. I strongly believe, amongst all Somali’s, in every clan & region there are decent & kind people amongst us. During difficult times, some are able to manage their emotions better than others. Don’t let X lower your standards & Keep Hope & Reason alive!
I’m a Unionist & believe we’re stronger together. I’ve been tweeting responses from the hospital, waiting for my brother’s surgery. Had time to engage with all sorts of voices from N&N die hards to a few secessionist. Both disrespectful & deserving Duca 🙏
There are days when I wake up so grateful & blessed. Where I ONLY focus on the positive aspects of our people & communities. Accepting them "Warts & All". Today is one of days. Light in Spirit! Alhamdullah
Eid is a time for reflection. Embrace gratitude, protect your elders, remember those less fortunate. A time for forgiveness & spiritual rebirth. Eid Mubarak & May you enjoy fine health, happiness and contentment. Amen
Today is a new day & new engagement on Twitter.
Going forward the discussion is, ideas on Peace & Development - keeping Respect & Tolerance front & center,
I will mute & block those who are unable to disagree respectfully & contain their emotions.
Thank you for the support
Please do not post photos of those who perished or were wounded at Hayat Hotel. This is a tragedy. Show respect & preserve their DIGNITY. Their families deserve respect & nor should their children be exposed to such images. Do not add to the trauma. Enough pain.
My mum is love personified. She has instilled in us an absolute confidence to chase our dreams, to excel professionally but never at the expense of personal qualities of thoughtfulness, humility, resilience and kindness. Honoring my mother today and everyday!
My family arrived in Geneva, Switzerland, for a short visit to support my settlement. Delighted in being gifted a new computer & printer. Family is a blessing & a gift which keeps on giving. Embrace gratitude! Moving forward, in making a difference. Alx
May the teachings of Allah and his prophet be your companion throughout your life. May this Eid ul Adha bring Peace, Prosperity, Tolerance, Patience, Forgiveness to you, your families, & everywhere our Kin & Somalis' reside. Stay blessed now & forever! Amen
Working in Qatar for 8yrs, I noticed in all the events I had attended there were no Somali's. I founded the Somali Professional Network in Qatar (SPINQ). This provided a forum for networking and making professional connections. Many bridges & common understanding was cemented.
My father, my aunt & I all served Somalia honorably. The hate, insults & abuse is not going to help Somalia. We need solutions, good governance, independent judiciary, accountability of all public officials. The Twitter space is becoming a hate fest of accusations. Disappointed
Spent my entire formative years overseas & raised to value patriotism over Qabil. Once immersed in Somali politics & society, I can easily identify an author's Qabil by their writing & analysis. It's not just our leaders who need to change. We need a societal shift. Be Patriots!
A Somali with a PhD doesn't neccessarily mean they're not Qabil worshippers, nor does it bestow common sense. They can still lack critical analysis for the issue's they chose to champion. Degrees have their limitations, when it comes to character & personality. Just saying..
May you have a healthy, happy, and peaceful New Year. May all your dreams come true. May you be blessed with compassion & wisdom. Most of all, may you be a blessing to your family, friends & community. Amen
My uncle Saeed Abdulkadir Farah, my mother's brother went missing in Mogadishu in 1969. A recent Cambridge graduate. He is still missing. Impossible to find closure when you can't even bury your loved one. This is why I fight for justice for
#Ikran
Congratulations to my nephew. Dr. Hassan Farah!

There is far too much negativity and abusive rhetoric on Twitter. Many I am sure, are funded by Farmaago and Fahad. Do not allow yourself to lose focus! Keep it simple. Support Country over Personality; Commit to Somalia over any Qabil sentiment; Move the Country Forward.
Always loved this picture. I wanted & needed to share something positive. Settled on the happiness portrayed by these two young women. May our youth live in peace and happiness. Amen
Joined Twitter mid 9/2020 & gained 4,400 followers & a few vocal critics. I learnt something new from everyone. I shared my bold & genuine analysis on Somalia. This will be last tweet for a while as I pay special attention to my health. Tried to live upto Abo's legacy. Thank you
Siblings are the best descriptions for Superheroes. My brother Harbi was briefly hospitalized in Nairobi & it has been very distracting. He is now doing great! Harbi has never failed in supporting his siblings. Always positive & loving. Continued good health. We're so lucky. Alxm
I am stepping away completely from Twitter. My account shall remain inactive. I have appreciated all those whom I have gotten to know & valued our exchanges. You can reach me on my LinkedIn account. Inshallah better days are ahead for you, your families, and the Somali people. IA
Today is my birthday, My father taught me, to "Embrace Gratitude & to "Count your Blessings" Throughout my life these two lessons, contributed to my drive to keep moving forward, no matter the challenges or obstacles. The sun always rises in our home. Today no politics👋❤️
We were taught to be strong and compassionate by our mother. Strength of character is meaningless, absence of compassion & kindness. Honouring my beautiful hooyo on International Women's Day. If we can emulate half her strength, we will be fine! Alhamdullah
N&N are calling everyone they oppose "corrupted, Sahan stooge, foreign spy" & so on. The joke is, they're are funded/enabled/supported by foreign powers from the Gulf to the HOA, they heavily invested in disinformation campaigns, enabled by foreign funding. The list is limitless
Pray for my beloved father "Ahmed Kayse" and all our families who have passed away. May they Rest in Paradise with the Angel's. It's during Ramadan & Eid when we remember them the most & honor their memory. Allahu Naxariiisto. Amen
June 26th, spoke with Pres. Hassan S. Mahmoud, who was in excellent spirit. He had spoken respectfully of my father & wished our family well. HSM's strengths has always been his humility & treating people respectfully. So much which is written about him, doesn't do him justice!
For Farmago & Fahad tweeter soldiers. Please don't worry about my reputation. I am respected & credible. Farmago's & Fahad's worst nightmare - they love buying the ethically & morally challenged. Too bad for them I'm not one of them. Raised on having strong principles & courage.
In 8 years of working in Somalia, at a very senior level, I learnt there many killings & assassinations unrelated to AS. AS is difficult to define as they've infiltrated every sector in Somalia, including the government sectors. It's the worst kept secret in Somalia.
@Maydhalaalis
I am a Unionist and it is part of my DNA. I strongly believe, we’re stronger together. I am independent minded & speak my mind. From time to time, I see your tweets. I would recommend you try to be less dramatic, more reasonable & respectful. Peace
I'm against N&N policies. Which is why I publicly criticize Farmago, Khayre & Fahad. It's not personal! It's their policy I feel has derailed progress. Those who were against Farmago but support Khayre. No what grounds are you basing your support? A bit confused on this point.
My philosophy is simple: we can differ on politics & our views on the leadership. We must unite on the principles of decency, tolerance, and mutual respect. This is how I chose to live my life.
As a family we miss our father Ahmed H. Dualeh Abdullah (Ahmed Kayse). On the 2nd anniversary of his passing, we remember his love & guidance. He was principled, educated, cultured & spiritual. We inherited the love of all things Somali.
AUN. Amen
On a positive note, what I love about our people. They will welcome & support you, even if you're a stranger to them. I needed a help with a report, made a call to a friend, posted on FB. Now I have a team of mainly Somali's, some I never met supporting me selflessly. Blessed!
I have friends across many regions and clans in Somalia. We're also related through marriages & kinship. It's a fallacy to judge individuals by their Clan. Every Clan/Tribe has their fair share of decent people as well as those who will answer to Allah on Judgement Day.
I was wondering, why I was feeling sad lately. Simply thought, emotional reaction to regional & global conflicts.
Finally, I realized, Abo passed away four years ago 1/8/2020
First & foremost, Abo was a great father! We miss him dearly. Pray we will reunite in heaven. AUN
Amen
The
#HandsOffSomalia
crowd are not pleased today. They're questioning the PNG. It seems certain members are allowed to interfere in Somali political issues. Double standards.
I worked with HSM during his first administration. I learnt he was dedicated to rebuilding Somalia, the war had left scars & he was determined to achieve peace. Rebuilding the country, providing hope, fostering a better future was his goal. Moreover, he was respectful & gracious
Somalia needs desperately a anti-tribalism vaccine. Tribalism effects are detrimental to the mental, emotional, and social well being of all Somali's. It's the root causes of all our conflicts & lack of progress. Unless we find a cure, conflicts will continue to be a way of life
Today I have granted CBB amnesty and decided to refrain from muting and blocking them. Thank God they've been fairly quiet. No to worry - HSM will be accountable. Inshallah
For those who feel Farmaago is simply misunderstood & has no malice in his heart. My response is: "One doesn't have to operate with great malice to do great harm. The absence of empathy & understanding are sufficient." His leadership has caused tremendous harm to Somalia.
The country doesn't need celebrations - we did that for Farmago. Enough celebration. We need prayer, being sober and planning how to rebuild the country. Save this tweet.
Honestly, I don't care about your tribe, your favorite uncle, care less if you support HSM or not. I only care whether you support Somalia. Get engaged in finding positive solutions & placing Somalia on the right path!
Got excellent news regarding my health today. It quickly inspired me, to be positive and show extra kindness to my family. Been a complete Angel at home ever since. Never, ever, take good health for granted. Without it everything else is meaningless. Allah be Praised.
Once a PM is appointed and a Cabinet is in place. There needs to be a proper investigation of the issues surrounding the Somali troops in Eritrea. The case of Ikran Tahlil needs resolution. Accountability and justice is important. Inshallah
We hear lot about people being unfair to CBB. I wrote a private, sincere, kind DM to Ms Garaad on Twitter after I saw her insulting folks. She reposted on FB with insults. Had a relative call her. The majority are Disapora & Qabil motivated. I stopped dealing with them.
Adored, cherished, missed & never forgotten. My sister Karima Dualeh. Almost 2 decades but grief doesn't have a time limit. Her beautiful legacy sustains us & her beautiful children. Cradled in the arms of Abo Inshallah. Allahu Naxariiisto. Amen
To make a difference, I will continue to speak my mind on this platform w/out fear or favor. I'm not on here for $/career ambition/glory. If anyone doesn't like what I have to say, you have the option to ignore/disagree. However, if you chose to be disrespectful. I will block you
I choose to believe there are more decent, caring, gracious, and kind Somali's then demonstrated on Twitter. I'm determined to keep this Hope Alive. Inshallah
We need all Somali government officials, public servants, to relinquish their dual citizenship & Western passports & treat Somalia as their primary residence. Only then will transformative & effective change occur in Somalia. The hypocracy of the Somali elite is limitless.
When HSM won his first election Sheikh Sharif left the country & kept a low profile. When Farmago won HSM also left the country, remained neutral for 4yrs & hardly spoke out. Farmago & Trump share non-stop campaigning in common, even though they lost the election. Never stops!
My nephew Ilyas Mahmood Dualeh. My father (AUN) was fluent in Arabic & loved the language. Ilyas excelled in his school project & is an outstanding student. The future belongs to our children. "We Do Not Inherit the Earth from Our Ancestors; We Borrow It from Our Children"
Proud
Somali-American Women, Black, Muslim, Hijab, Immigrant, rising above all the challenges & stereotypes to be victorious in US election. A credit to their family, their culture, their education, their religion, their community & standing tall in America. Bravo for their hard work!
My dearest Uncle Ibrahim Haji Dualeh Abdullah passed away a little while ago in London, UK. May Allah Almighty reward him with the highest level of Paradise. I pray he is resting peacefully with my father AUN. Amen
Every generation is given an opportunity, to rise to the occasion. My heartfelt advice for the Youth, Study the past, understand the pitfalls & don't repeat them. Somalia will not be rebuild on anger & fury. Needs patience & calm.
If Farmago is seriously travelling to Qatar, could he please take Fahad & Company with him, and retire at The Pearl in Doha. As it is, the country will take decades, to recover from 5yrs of conflict, instability, injustice & intimidation. Adios
Congrats to Amb Abdi Haji appointed as the new Speaker of the Parliament. I've known him since I was a child in UK when Abo was Ambassador & Adeer was Counselor. He named our youngest brother "Ayanleh" & we worked together at MOFA. May Allah make the task ahead easy for him. Amen
Wishing you and your families a very Blessed Ramadan. Embrace Gratitude, Extend Compassion, Forgive often, and never forget, those who are less fortunate. Caring is Sharing. Open your hearts, your mind & your home. Ramadan Kareem. Amen
Eid Mubarak to you & your families. May all our prayers during the blessed month of Ramadan be realized. Praying for peace, stability, security for all. May we embrace gratitude, understanding, patience & compassion. Amen
I was a high school student when I came to US. We didn't have mentors to teach us the ropes. We learned by trial & error. Devoted my career largely to Mentoring and Training. I am passionate in supporting the youth. It's critical we mentor & support the youth. It's v. rewarding
I travelled through many airports watching Somali's being humiliated, threatened & harassed. I would stop & try to help. Predominantly, mother's with young children travelling alone. The passport has 0 value once you destroy your country. We need to prioritize & focus.
Third generation Somali's being born into refugee camps in Kenya, the youth are dying on foreign shores searching for opportunities & a raging drought is killing humans & livestocks. Yet, he is fundraising for a former President, PM, US civil servant. Is this for real?
Is Farmago being underestimated? He appears to be rising like the Phoenix. He successed in protecting Fahad, neutralizing Rooble, stoked mistrust amongst the Opposition groups, almost achieving the 2yr extension, & all of this been achieved behind closed doors. Foreign influence?
I noticed whenever government supporters disagree with a tweet. They attack the individual not the substance/message. They invariably call the person a Western Spy or biased disgruntled Qablil driven individual. This is an attempt to intimidate & cancel debate.
Travelled back from the London Conference with Farmago, his wife & daughter. His daughter slept on my knees during the flight. Her parents loved & doted on her. They're denying Ikran Tahlil parents the same privilege. Inflicting suffering & pain. Rewarding the suspects w/MP post!
This morning I launched the “Civility & Respect project”Blocked the negative & draining folks - it was enjoyable! If we do our best, to respect one another, no matter the challenges, we can serve our people better & instill much needed hope. Reject Toxicity & Embrace Civility” IA
