Really excited to see this paper out! A pan-coronavirus vaccine could be our way out of this and future pandemics, and @nikifaulkner and I think that a S2-based vaccine could do just that.

no! more! qPCRs! ✊🏼.
Today I introduced a bill to ban all messenger ribonucleic acid technology (mRNA) in the State of Idaho, and we passed the Freedom in Education Savings Account out of the Senate Education Committee to fund students and not systems, putting families in control over their ed $.

When I was in my PhD program I went to parties every week and I did just fine 💁♀️.
When I was in my PhD program I didn’t go to any parties except one, where a bunch of the other students cornered me, drunk, to ask what I was doing that I was getting some success, as if it wasn’t just from writing instead of going to parties and watching too much tv.

experiment of the year.
Then we repeated the experiment, but we dehydrated the tissue first. The architecture was fine. We left it at room temperature for a year. Still fine. Ran over it with a car, had a former Astros starting pitcher throw a fastball at it, fired a shotgun at it. Still fine. (15/18)

no! no! no you can't!.
"Although scientists don’t quite understand why, kids seem to be naturally protected. As a result, you can think of your son or daughter as an already vaccinated grandparent," @ProfEmilyOster writes:

@Point_Mutation We add a pipette tip to our SDS loading buffer, just because nobody can remember a time there hasn't been a pipette tip in there.

putting “coronavirus antibody researcher” on my cv asap.
📝 @nikifaulkner and @KevinWNg have used a test they developed to show that some antibodies that match up with the SARS-CoV-2 spike protein aren’t just found in #COVID19 patients, and might also be found in people who have had certain colds in the past.

Easily the coolest coronavirus-related finding I've had the chance to be involved in!.
.@TheCrick, @KCLImmunoMicro, @UCLInfectImm scientists have identified another potential target for neutralizing antibodies on the #SARSCoV2 Spike protein that is masked by metabolites in the blood. New in @ScienceAdvances: #COVID19

As biologists, we all have an obligation to counter the misuse of biology in the name of transphobia.
@CellCellPress It includes a Commentary from 24 transgender (and/or family of trans) scientists discussing the experiences of sex and gender minorities in STEMM and offering actions to help build a more inclusive academia and produce more accurate and rigorous science:
