The Ulster Banner amongst the lined streets of The Mall tonight. 🇬🇧☘️
A surreal experience walking around our capital tonight, anticipation but a lot of sadness. Time to decide what I am to do.
It may be a result of not being used to kingship, but it’s undeniable that there is a new Carolean aesthetic.
True to tradition, and yet breathes a sense of renewal into the institution, and as may not be unexpected from those who familiar with HM, it’s characterised by beauty.
When you see the stone of Windsor Castle, hear the music of “I Vow to Thee My Country” and “Jerusalem”, see the glistening armour of the Household Cavalry or the uniforms of the Guards.
How can anyone tell you this isn’t the greatest country the world has ever known. 🇬🇧☘️🏴🏴🏴
Regiments with a special relationship to The Duke of Edinburgh form up in the Quadrangle at Windsor Castle.
Military bands play music including ‘I Vow to Thee My Country’ and ‘Jerusalem’.
New coins already off to a great start. Very reminiscent of the sixpences of the reigns of Kings George V and VI.
I can’t get enough of Unionist imagery on coins, especially when its arms and flowers. 🇬🇧☘️
Wishing a Happy 41st Birthday to HRH The Prince of Wales.
His Royal Highness is known to many subjects here by his Northern Irish subsidiary title; Baron Carrickfergus. 🇬🇧☘️

Northern Ireland has done herself proud today. 🇬🇧☘️
Thousands filled the streets of Hillsborough and Belfast as his proudest subjects welcomed their new sovereign, HM King Charles III.
A highlight for me personally; seeing HM so close about his duty on this historic day (4th).
Our local council district will be gaining its first royal statue, that of Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
Many towns across the United Kingdom have similar statues in the process of being prepared for unveiling.
This could be the first of its kind in Northern Ireland.
The message to Westminster, Dublin, Brussels and Stormont from today’s protest in Portadown was loud and clear:
The Northern Ireland Protocol must go. 🇬🇧☘️🥁
A Happy

It’s on this day that Canada celebrates the birthday of HM Queen Victoria; a symbol of Canada, her confederation and crown.
Victoria Day also marks HM The King’s official birthday in Canada.

Took a lovely hike up Slemish, Co. Antrim early this morning. ⛰️🐑
It is here that St. Patrick spent his six years in captivity as a shepherd, arriving as a 16 year old slave from Bannavem Taburniae.
The Protocol an instrument which separates N. Ireland from the rest of the Kingdom, and long term looks to shift our alignment from GB to the RoI.
It’s plain to see why Sinn Fein cheerlead it, likewise SDLP. What *should* raise eyebrows is how passionately Alliance pursue it.
A new portrait of The King, wearing his Admiral of the Fleet uniform, will be made available to display in all public buildings in the UK.
Schools, councils and courts can apply for a free portrait, which was taken in Windsor Castle last year by photographer Hugo Burnand.
“I today seriously say to America: You attend to your own affairs and we will attend to ours. You look after your own questions at home and we will look after ours. We will not brook interference in our own affairs by any country, however powerful.”

Changes here in the household. I would say this is the end of the transition period for me. ⏳
Privilege to have attended the funeral of HM Queen Elizabeth II and the Coronation of TM King Charles III and Queen Camilla.
God Save The King. 🇬🇧☘️
We are a flag loving people, yet many won’t have seen what may have been the first flag of Northern Ireland.
It’s origins are painfully unknown, but it seems to have seen an entire generation of use.

Praying for a speedy recovery for HRH The Duke of Edinburgh
A life dedicated to public service such as his does not warrant the sneering of lesser men on social media.
Gutted to be missing Scarva this year, but did make it to the green grassy slopes of the Boyne. 🇬🇧☘️🥁🎶

Bit of re-decorating to add a workspace for going back to university in September. 📚📝💻
A few things still to be done, and a few temporary measures, but well pleased.

The “New Ireland” guff is a non-starter, because it is built on the mistake that all Unionists are just undecideds yet to be convinced.
Unionism isn’t a vague notion of British identity to be accommodated in a new state by a cocktail of pandering and concession... [1/2]
When dividing up your blame, consider reflecting how the genuine significant concerns around the Protocol, raised by ordinary Unionists and Unionist leaders for 3 years now, have been met with little more than “sit down, shut up”.
This is how we’ve arrived at this destination.
So Nationalists or Republicans can enjoy the support of those they consider their countrymen in the Republic, but Unionists in Northern Ireland shouldn’t enjoy the support of Unionists in the rest of the country.
Why are Unionists & right wing British commentators getting so upset about Labour saying they won't actively campaign in a border poll? That has always been their position because they understand that it's up to us, the people of Ireland - North and South, to decide our future.
Packing my bags to leave for the capital. ✈️🧳
My last visit to London was one I’ll never forget, somber and sad but exciting in its own way. This

weekend I’m sure will be similarly striking, but full of celebration and joy.
Rejoice and God Save The King. 🇬🇧☘️
The usual sneering back tonight at Unionist protests against the Protocol shows that it’s not the means or method that any of these people take issue with, it’s the fact that Unionists are speaking up.

@michaelgove
described himself as a “convinced Unionist” in the Commons today.
He might try convincing some of us here in Northern Ireland of that, by triggering Article 16 and working to scrap the Protocol.
Kind of is madness that the Unit*d States of America gets to swan in, spout what everyone knows is ignorance and misunderstanding, and everyone just smiles at them.
A prayer that we are accustomed to saying, but one that’s weight and significance has never more earnestly been felt. A plea of intercession.
God Save The Queen. 🇬🇧☘️
Sinn Fein do realise the British Army already play a supporting role in Northern Ireland?
Specifically every time one of their old mates decides to leave a device in a public area.

Only interested when they’ve the opportunity to demonise Loyalists?
Modern Architecture is deliberately subversive. It deliberately undermines the uniformity, history and traditions of towns.
I am not being hyperbolic when I say it should be illegal.
Sir Edward Carson in Portadown during his pre-Covenant speaking tour. From the Railway Station, he would receive a salute and speak at the foot of the statue of Col. Saunderson, his forbear in the fight against Home Rule. He would later address crowds at Shamrock Park. 🇬🇧☘️✋🏼
Is there anyone, in good faith, who can honestly tell me they believe the delegation from the US is abreast of the situation, and do they genuinely believe they’ve anything to offer other than acting as muscle for the EU’s intransigence.

The Good Friday Agreement is the bedrock of peace in Northern Ireland. If the U.K. violates its international agreements & Brexit undermines the Good Friday accord, there will be absolutely no chance of a U.S.-U.K. trade agreement passing the Congress.
