George Treas III put flowers from his garden up for a memorial. "I would've been coming over that bridge that time of day because I would be taking a lady home from work from the bar and it just so happens that she don't work this week.”
Francis Scott Key Bridge collapsed a few hours ago after being struck by a ship, and rescue teams were searching for multiple people believed to have fallen into the Patapsco River, a Baltimore Fire department spokesman confirmed.

If you watched the video of the Key Bridge, you saw one vehicle make it over mere seconds before the collapse. Through an incredible feat of detective work and reporting, @BaltimoreBanner own @JessMGallagher found the driver who saw the end of an era through his rear view mirror.
.@abbyzimmardi and I spoke with one of the last drivers to cross the Key Bridge. Here is the story -->

@vissersixxx She needs to follow her gut instinct about danger and leave - it’s especially stronger now that she’s pregnant and responsible for another life. Terrifying.

I’m proud of the @BaltimoreBanner newsroom today and especially my tiny photo team who provided visuals for all the stories. This catastrophic of an event isn’t easy to cover & it was done quickly and correctly. I grew up in this city, that bridge was a landmark in my life. ♥️.

Shouting out my photo team at the @BaltimoreBanner again for their tireless work in providing important and moving visuals of the bridge collapse story. There are only four of us out in the field. They’ve worked 15+ hour days the past few days. Proud of you!

@LeslieStreeter Ok the funniest part about this is that there’s no thumbnail on your QT so imagine my face when I clicked and saw who it was.

@ThousandAbove This is horrifying and I am sorry that happened to you, but a clean area, clean needles and a sanitary space are NOT optional. For anyone reading this, please do NOT gaslight yourself into not questioning these steps. If it feels wrong it is wrong.

A vigil was held tonight for 8yo Dylan King who was found upstairs in his home with a gunshot wound to the head by police last Friday. His parents told @BaltimoreBanner he loved sports, video games and was very, very loved. "He was special," his father Roland King said.

We are about a mile away from Fort McHenry. Katie got a surprise from @_UrbanPirates who brought her family and friends out to greet her. “I’m gonna get your booty!” Someone yelled to her.“Do you have any rum?” Katie asked them . Home stretch!

Since X doesn’t let me type a lot of characters, I made a video talking about why the Key Bridge collapse hits so close to home for me and why subscribing to local news during times like these is so, so, so important. Thanks for supporting me and my @BaltimoreBanner colleagues

I just met @PostMalone. I asked him what he thought of Baltimore and he said he liked it. Then I asked what specifically. And he said “the people.”. And yes, he does smell very good. I made it a point to sniff him to report back to y’all.

This is a disgusting headline, even for y’all. Shame on you. Attacks on members of the press are frequent and this is what you chose to say? Don’t forget - you are also members of the press.
Philadelphia journalist and activist Josh Kruger, who frequently downplayed crime concerns in the city, died after being shot in his home Monday.

Gov. Wes Moore holds his son James while participating in prayer at the Kunta Kinte Alex Haley Memorial on 1/18. In the past, this spot was where a lot of enslaved people were sold and traded in the colonial city. Now the first Black Governor presides here. 📸 @BaltimoreBanner

When I was first starting out in my photojournalism career, features at The Baltimore Sun was all I photographed. I covered all the concerts, festivals, and weird little Baltimore stories that were only found in the features department. What a sad, sad, sad direction this paper.
The Baltimore Sun dissolved its features department Monday, reassigning its staff to news departments – the first time since at least 1888 the newspaper won’t have even one reporter dedicated to covering the city’s cultural life.

The community continues to come together to honor and support the lives lost on the Key Bridge. Early this morning, despite the rain, a prayer circle was held at the Patterson Park Observatory by Redemption City Church. Neighbors and friends held each other and sang hymns.
The Turner Station community in Dundalk, right near where the FSK Bridge once stood less than twenty-four hours ago, participated in a vigil at Mount Olive Baptist Church where people of all denominations were welcome.
