Sorry Mitch try again I was the face of Iowa at one point. Still hold places in the record books. Those Hawkeye fans embraced me then and STILL do to this day! Of course Women's basketball as a whole wasn't as popular as now but that never changed how they treated me.
No offense but I think there's a big disparity between the embrace of a player who got hurt and was a piece of the program and whether or not there would be a similar embrace of a black player who became the face of the program/sport.
