While the data the last few days has been consistent in showing a potent winter system moving near the area for early next week, slight shifts in the track are being noted with a southern shift this morning. It's something to keep an eye on, but nothing is set in stone.

Freezing rain will accumulate on surfaces Wed AM through the afternoon. This will cause hazardous travel conditions most if not all day. By Thur AM ice accumulation could be 0.20" in some locations. Wind gusts could be as high as 40 mph. Power outages are possible. -Schnack

Eastern Iowa and much of the Midwest has a 70-80% chance of being above normal for temps the week leading up to Christmas. Normal highs are in the low 30s. That also means that a White Christmas (inch of snow on ground or more) is looking unlikely. -Danny
