We are devastated to share with you the loss of a dear old friend to the NFRSA. RPD Corrie served as a General Purpose Police Dog with @PSOSDogs, until her retirement to her handler. We supported RPD Corrie twice as a charity; once when she had to have an operation for an ear haematoma (she had an adorable floppy ear from that moment), and the second time when she suffered a suspected stomach torsion. It was a privilege to do so. We met Corrie a number of times, and she even came out to support Lady B on her Lands End to John O’Groats bike ride in September 2023, making us all smile. She had an incredible career as a police dog with @PoliceScotland, and was highly successful, once scattering a large group of people who were assaulting another police officer, saving him from serious injury. Corrie passed away unexpectedly after suffering a catastrophic stroke on Thursday 6th February, her Mum knew it was time and she was by her side as she left for rainbow bridge. Corrie leaves behind so many memories and her devastated Mum and handler Gail is taking strength from those, but it’s a huge loss to her and her family. And to the NFRSA family. Our thoughts are with all who knew and loved Corrie, and there were many - but particularly Gail, who has lost her best mate. Sleep well old friend, you will never be forgotten.
