@davidharsanyi Just on the Lucid Motors example you're using here - I'm afraid that's a somewhat-common misconception, originally spread by some folks who don't know how to read a balance sheet. Can't divide the cost of long-term capital investments by units sold in year one or two.

@Ford, I won't say "better late than never" but - ah, now I've gone and said it anyway. Glad to have you on board, though. Here's @LucidMotors CEO Peter Rawlinson in *2022* explaining why, from a technical POV, the numbers don't add up for big EV pickups:
The economics just don't work right now, he said.
