So here are my thoughts on this as an investor and believer in @LucidMotors This is both good and bad and it really breaks down to scale If they plan to stick with volumes of sub 20k annually this stinks, if they can ramp to 50k vehicles annually or higher this is great There is no denying their tech is top notch and side by side outpaces their peers just review their investor day! If they can get enough contracts and get volume in part this is a huge cost saving for their EVs Let see how this plays out!
NEWS: Lucid CEO Peter Rawlinson says he wants Lucid to be 20% car company, 80% tech supplier. "The vision I have for Lucid is: Just as there’s an Intel inside your laptop, there’s a Lucid inside a Honda or a Toyota." "People think, 'Oh, why didn't you just be a supplier, Peter?' Because we need the cars as a shop window for our product," he said. Lucid also plans to expand the reach of that "shop window." It’s targeting production of 1 million cars per year by the early 2030s, up from around 9,000 in 2024. Source:
