The data we saw right after pandemic work-from-home is that engineers were ~20% more productive than prior during work-from-office. Consistently. Over time. In every category.
I dug into that data myself.
Return to office likely has a productivity cost.
But then, as people got settled into remote, we saw the numbers improve.
In fact, better than before. 20% better, IIRC.
People, freed from distractions and unable to leave their homes (funny not funny), had increased productivity. This remained after the lockdowns fwiw 4/n
