Bai Yulu should have won against Simon Bedford I believe… pots red, ends up being in behind pack but can see black. Plays green 2 times. Misses both… 3rd miss would be loss of frame as can see ball on… he then fouls going for black… is it not loss of frame and match?

Not surprised people don’t attend. Not everybody is top 16 and can afford the extra outlay.

To clarify, if you shave £500 off last 64, you only gain £16000, which wouldn’t be enough to pay 64 losers £500.
You’d have to shave £1000 off last 64 to make it £2000, to be able to pay 64 people £500.
Your point still remains valid, but the math is worth pointing out.

For clarity, I am wrong 👍 although I think Bai Yulu missed a trick not asking for the balls to be “replaced” after the 3rd foul touching the red. Because he would have been forced to hit the ball on otherwise lose.
He did hit it, but wouldn’t have played the shot he did.

is a fluke. He was playing two cushions and off the pack and back to baulk. Pressure got to him, he panicked and put the wrong side spin on the cueball.

Fair play if he does it. But Hick’s to beat Gilbert has to be one of the biggest shocks there is. Especially considering how deep in the comp it is, and how much of a struggle it has been for Hicks over the last couple of years.

Why does the points get added to rankings for the players series first round losers, but seeded through players in the worlds have to win a match to get the prize money on their rankings?
