I got kicked out of an app competition yesterday. This is just sad.
I'm incredibly disappointed in
@nikitabier
and
@soren_iverson
for getting me kicked out of
#sillyhacks
.
Soren - You're supposed to be my friend.
Nikita - I look up to you, man.
My story:
I made the most unhinged app ever 🥲‼️
“What if we had BeReal but only 1 person was randomly selected to go live to everyone else?”
Unhinged? Bold? A little bit stupid? Yep, that’s my product.
Here’s how I built the most unhinged app ever👇
@soren_iverson
now we need an opposite of summarize because any reply less than 50 words that does not have proper grammar or a long winded exposé of childhood trauma is not gonna get us out alive.
Hot take:
When building an online business, you should be trying to create scalable growth systems.
I'm suspicious that creating short-form content yourself is an efficient substitute for creating scalable growth systems.
✨ An analysis on this video I had blow up last year 👇

“Bring back quoting people other than Elon Musk, Steve Jobs, Sam Altman, Paul Graham, Naval, Peter Thiel, Jensen Huang, Brian Chesky, and the next dozen usual suspects.”

MASSIVE shoutout to the AMAZING TikTok wizard
@enggirlfriend
who casually made Stompers' sign up numbers shoot up with 1 video alone
(this is still climbing)
fellow social app builders -- are you preparing for ios 18 contacts permission updates or taking advantage of the current permission flow while you still can?
airchat is a similar dynamic to clubhouse where 30 something year old dudes will thrive after having a glass of whiskey when they’re at home alone on a friday night
@nikitabier
Every social founder I've spoken to about this is aligned:
We care about users' privacy. We do not want to do anything nefarious with contact data; we just want users to experience the product socially, as intended.
We're seeing decent numbers with iOS 18 but it's just another
@soren_iverson
“i bought that 55 gallon barrel of lubricant by accident man please believe me bro i bought it for a friend he lives in canada im just holding it for him”
I'm surprised that LinkedIn doesn't verify that you work at the company you say you do.
I feel like a simple email confirmation to your work email would be the easiest way to remove 90% of the bad actors.
don't ever, for any reason, rely on anyone else for any reason ever.
no matter what,
no matter where,
or who,
or who you were with,
or where you were going,
or where you've been ever,
never rely on anyone else for any reason whatsoever.
every early-stage founder should be tested on the following every month to keep their position:
- recite onboarding steps from memory
- have at least 5 meetings arguing with their providers about costs
- answer the top 3 user complaints and how to monetize them
Super excited to announce I've started working at
@JoinCommonstock
this past week!
It's been incredible even though it's just been a week. Feel like part of the team. It's been awesome to work with people that have visioned what I have about social investing and so much more.
Je voudrais annoncer que je suis un fondateur français. Ceci est dû à l'augmentation des fondateurs français trouvant du succès.
Merci à tous ceux qui m'ont soutenu dans cette transition.
