Some interesting facts. America use to have a ban on avocados from Mexico and our own farmers in California etc grew the industry incredibly. Then under NAFTA we took the ban off and and the avocado industry exploded in Mexico with tons of exports into the US. Ultimately decimating the American Avocado Farmers. As the market grew in Mexico it became a target for the cartels and is now arguably a conflict commodity. It’s wild how much money there is in avocados hence the interest of the cartels. Tons of news coverage on the issue. Here’s one story about it. So no, similarly don’t care if my avocados (and other items) get more expensive due to Tariffs if the end goal is to resolve the bigger issues at hand. About time America takes action.
