Haha, just a little joke: Often, we’d have to write a cue multiple times. Most sequences come in “pre-VFX,” so we write the cue and it would feel great. A week later, the VFX come in, and the cue would have to be reimagined. Hence two scores for one film!! Honestly it’s a

Here is the short answer! Depending on vision, it's often necessary to create multiple versions of the score for several reasons. Initially, when scenes are still in their pre-VFX state, the music needs to work harder to sell the sequence and convey the intended emotions and

"Memories of Home" is the original suite that was given to Wes in 2022. It later evolved into our Eagle Clan Theme, featured in the tracks "Eagle Clan," and in a more heroic rendition, "Ape Aquatics.", Its used throughout to represent Eagle Clan. Glad you enjoy!

why the edit happened, but most likely just a creative choice to keep portion of scene dry, lots of music editorial decisions are made on final mix, could get very dangerous if composers made those decisions! ;) who needs dialogue anyway, right?

Once I turn in that score, lots of reshaping happens on the final mix. When dialog, SFX, foley, etc., make their way into the film, decisions need to be made that support the overall narrative vision. I tried to convince Wes that he didn't need the dialog or SFX, but he didn't go

We re-recorded it for the last 40seconds of funeral. Original cue was from War, we just did a slight re-arrangement to suit picture. Love that cue!
