@KMNDR_ @MitchHorowitz Encouragement and support isn't toxic positivity. Toxic positivity is the dismissal of negative emotions with the implication that it is the subject's fault. Sometimes it is. Sometimes circumstance and mental illness need to be dealt with before the person can choose emotions.

Humanities gets a pass. I had a philosophy prof who fell asleep while lecturing. This was at a major state school.
