@MUspikeyFC @jonmikesav8 That interview came shortly after the club had briefed their intention to sell him, it might have been something said in the heat of the moment - plus Amorim actually hinted towards that quote coming from someone in Rashford’s camp rather than the player himself

@EDPC66 @FootballDot96 @jonmikesav8 Yes, all the signs from Amorim indicated that there was no improvement but that completely contradicts multiple reports that came out regarding his training. Staying on to do extra work etc, ready to hear his name called. Training thing might be a myth, who knows?

@dexdent @jonmikesav8 I doubt it, the FFP thing is clearly high up on the to-do list for Ratcliffe and they’re probably hoping to see a spike in form from him at Villa so they’ll pay a bit more to sign him permanently in the summer. Decision was made to keep Mainoo/Garnacho and let the other go

@CallumMck2 @jonmikesav8 The only reports that came out regarding his training in that period were that coaches were impressed by him. In fact he was doing extra work to make sure if he was selected he would be ready to take his chance. Simply, that chance never arrived for him, purposely

The way Amorim spoke about him in pressers, the way the club had briefed they wanted to sell him (which was before he said he wanted a new challenge) and despite multiple reports of an improved attitude to his work, he didn’t feature because club wanted him out, they couldn’t let him get injured. This is step 1 for SJR in easing FFP restrictions by paving the way for a full sale in the summer. Rashford could have worked like Ronaldo in training, he still didn’t stand a chance. Amorim had the opportunity to bring him on when they went 2-0 down to Newcastle and needed a goal, that was a good stage to give him to truly see how badly he wanted it, but it was a few days before the January window opened

@chapmanalex7 @jonmikesav8 We’ll never know full truth but imo he prob did change his attitude for the better after derby dropping. Numerous reports came out about his work ethic, coaches impressed etc. But the decision was already made he needed to be sold & he didn’t play because he couldn’t get injured

@jamesaknight It was easy for the Wembley game in October and plenty of empty seats on the day, obviously different market over here but Croker seats 76k. If you want a ticket and you sign up for release info, shouldn’t be a problem if you’re there quick enough

@JrBrennan8 @JackJHoward01 @RoadCheltenham @irishracing I’ll be backing both mares for sure, let’s see how Con Hill reacts when he’s got to chase BDA up the hill and spots Lossiemouth in his rearview coming alongside him for pressure…
