A third runway at Heathrow is never going to be built. It would be a disaster for the climate and as @NEF have shown it will do nothing for economic growth. Who is advising Labour on this?!

The hundreds of companies that have adopted a four-day working week in the UK are proud to be leading the way on better workplace rights and as a country we should be proud that the UK is leading the way on this. Me on BBC Radio 4 earlier.

Agree with Simon Jenkins that smartphones should be banned for young people under 16. They are bad news for adults too though!

Huge political opportunity here for a new populist left party or the Green Party to rise to the moment!

"The polling... suggests Labourā€™s vote is more vulnerable to loss to the left, with 48% of those who supported Starmerā€™s party in July saying they were more likely to shift to the Greens or Lib Dems, against 23% who were more tempted by the Tories or Reform." šŸ‘€

@D_Raval It's having zero cut through. They need to be more populist, ditch the co-leadership model which means no one knows who the leader is and focus entirely on occupying the space to the left of Labour. Then people might start to get excited by the Greens.

@D_Raval All very good points but do you know what the Green Party political strategy is? At the moment it seems like they don't have one and they haven't moved in the polls at all since the election.

Totally agree with Aaron here about some elements of the left not being open to different views, conversation or listening. I've increasingly noticed this in recent years and it's really jarring.

The vibe of the left is hectoring, telling people off, not interested in conversation or listening. Meanwhile right wing radicals are increasingly viewed as affable & representative. For Reform to be tied with Labourā€¦in Wales! Wow!
