1. He said he would open source the algorithm not the whole platform. Which he did. 2. He's not trying to buy Open AI, he's just making it hard for Sama to get it cheap. 3. There is no $500 billion, not even 100. Theirs maybe 20. And none of it is taxpayer money. XAI has had 2 x $6 billion rounds so far. There's lots of money for AI right now And lots of trolls obvs...

@llm_san @AiBreakfast For Coding Sonnet is unmatched and it's not that close even with the benchmark manipulation built into other models

@Mr_Candid_Truth @kimmonismus @sama Open AI was created with about 50 million from Elon to be open source competition to Google Deep Mind. Sama is trying to take it closed now after the fact using fairly sketchy legal workaround. XAI was started as a closed source company so is absolutely what it set out to be.

@QWERTYdaily @NickADobos @grok That's what I think is happening. Note to self, never screw over Elon

@uncertainsys @iruletheworldmo Sonnet is the best for coding and it's not close. o1/o3 are great for planning but they're slower and their code is not as good. Ignore the leaderboards. Those have been gamed. All the dev's using Cursor use Sonnet

One of the big issues with existing programming languages is that they train more on old code (because there is more of it) and so the code in those languages is more likely to use old methods and not modern best practices. So you often get old fashioned code generated by AI. With a brand new language, the AI could be given access to the documentation and top quality code samples and could then start generating synthetic code in that language. It could then (with human feedback) be the source of future training data with no bad examples to skew the data. The language could even be designed by the AI itself to be more optimised for AI code generation. I think it could be an interesting time

I like your idea Paul, but the real best way is... Get an apartment in the south of Italy somewhere rural but near the beach (because beaches are awesome). Then befriend a local olive farmer/agriturismo who grows, harvests and presses his own oil in small quantities (everyone does this in the south). Then get 20-50 litres of the first press every November and live like a king... Simples

@emerginghope_ @andrewchen Honestly, Sonnet is still better than o3-mini at coding. It's insane but true.

@IanAndrewsDC @GroqInc Audio everything plugin. Especially if you can include really good voice cloning

@iruletheworldmo Is that you Sama? Sponsored post? I've been really underwhelmed by o3 mini. Sonet is still easily top for coding.

@Justin_Halford_ @thekitze I present an alternative hypothesis your honour. The others are all gaming the benchmarks. Training and reinforcing output to excel at benchmarks. They're Volkswagening it

@bryan_johnson You can get a similar treatment for free by donating blood plasma at a blood bank. It takes about an hour.
