@AuronMacintyre This is what happens in modern social media. The modern equivalent to a political philosophy professor will get lectured on political philosophy by the modern equivalent of a coal miner. Comes with the territory and the wider reach I guess.

I'm sure I'll get some hate here, but I'll honestly say that I briefly toyed with the idea of going to Catholic mass, but I genuinely want no association with this pope. I'm not planning to let that hold up my spiritual journey, I am planning to read some Chesterton and maybe study some Bible soon. DMs are always open to anyone with thoughts, I was raised Pentecostal and that side of things is very much not for me.

Breaking: Pope sends letter to US bishops decrying mass deportation and rejecting "any measure that tacitly or explicitly identifies the illegal status of some migrants with criminality." The true ordo amoris, he says, is the ethos of the Good Samaritan.

@SirEvanAmato Someone should probably inform Musk and Ramaswamy of this. Maybe some Aristotle would help them come to terms with western culture.

Obvious engagement bait, but Boomers were born into a universe that was ordered and told "do whatever you want." They were never taught to question why the universe was ordered, or what it took to maintain that order. And so they took it for granted that the universe would continue to be ordered. They benefitted from the civilization that has been built for them, but without the grave responsibility that they must maintain that civilization for it to continue. They are a singular and unique generation in that regard. Gen X and beyond felt the impact of order unravelling, they saw that things were never going to be the same as they were, but the boomers didn't. In many ways they couldn't. To them, it was common sense that all manner of moral degeneracy and selfish decision making would exist simultaneously with the benefits of a strong civilization, because that's the world they grew up in. So do I lay most of the blame at their feet? Yes, but I also lay a decent amount of blame at the generation that raised them, and the generation before them too. Gen X isn't blameless either, or the millennials. They each contributed to the fall in their own unique way.

@AuronMacintyre TIL all the amazing engineering marvels in America built before 1868 were actually made of cotton. Incredible!

@0x49fa98 I'm a vibrant society age gap relationships would be rare, because teens and people in their early 20s would be marrying before they had a chance to interact with many 30+ year olds.

@JonHaidt Businesses, or God forbid the state intervening to prevent free range parenting, especially in safe small towns, is insane authoritarianism.

@tyminski_marek 5th option: only after months of friends telling me it's amazing and I have to get it, then seeing it on right wing discord servers saying it actually doesn't have woke stuff, then getting distracted for a couple years with other games, then when I see it pop up on steam 50% off

One way could be simple psychological advertisement by repetition. Get people thinking about kids nonstop. Make laws that no violence or cleavage are allowed on daytime TV. Make people mad. Start hanging child r*p*sts. Make it clear that anyone who effs with kids will die painfully. Encourage creation of kids programs. Make advertisements glorifying motherhood. Get people whipped into a baby frenzy(it's not too hard, it's baked into our DNA). Promote TV shows that have cutesy kids like Shirley Temple or 'Leave it to Beaver'. Have shows about lovable mothers and their beautiful families.

@revenant_MMXX @0x49fa98 @ScooterFish2 @TRA4669 I actually hate how much I need Windows, but it's the gold standard and a natural monopoly in one. If you need the OS with the highest compatibility with the highest number of programs, there is no alternative. The idea of being in a closed ecosystem keeps me up at night.

Ok someone run me through this real slow. So Marxists in the government...arranged for illegal immigrants to stay in fancy hotels...to drive anti-government and anti-immigration resentment...so people want to overthrow the government...to replace it with a larger government?

Unfairness causes resentment. Resentment causes conflict. Conflict drives revolution. This is Marxism 101.
