The Golden Egg. Prices have jumped so much some American restaurants are adding premiums to their breakfast menus. A dozen eggs now costs $10-$12 US. Maybe someone should be telling Trump he can buy Canadian for less than half that price. (Also. Terrific headline pun here)

I learned this today in a conversation with @FoodProfessor. Most Cndn orange juice comes from BRAZIL.
Received a note from a Canadian orange juice manufacturer this weekend. "To correct a widely circulating myth in the media since Mr. Trump’s announcement this weekend: Most orange juice in Canada comes from Brazil and not the U.S. for all brands except Tropicana, which uses a 50% U.S./Brazil blend. There are no tariffs since it is bottled in Canada, and for the brand "Simply", it is the same case. Will the price continue to rise? Possibly, since our contracts are unfortunately in U.S. dollars."

At the grocery store today big signs in the produce section identifying country of origin. Buying Canadian is noble, but often more expensive. I chose the Canadian onions, they were $3 more than the American onions. 👎🏻
