There is actually one boss fight against a really old man where you can turn off the console for a week (or set the system timer ahead 1 week) and when you return the boss will be dead from old age.
Here is something I never knew before about Mario 2 in Japan.
Every time you beat the game it adds a star to the title screen and it saves the star. You need 8 of these stars to play Worlds A, B, C & D.
Man how the fuck to people play this game, is everyone who likes this just a god at FPS games? Like I cranked down the difficulty and everything and still can't survive the second level in Blood.
Descent 2's lighting was really cool for 1996. ROTT had dynamic lighting too but it was nowhere near as convincing as this. This game came out before Quake.
The guided missiles in Descent 2 are the coolest fps weapon ever. I just killed a dude like 4 rooms away, even got an extra life from it which made it even more satisfying.
Any remake of Super Metroid is likely going to be inferior to the original. The original Super Metroid is about as perfect as a video game can get imo.
I need a Metroid Prime Trilogy on Switch tho! Gimme gimme gimme!!!
My dad let me set up one of my PCs in my old room, in the exact location I had my 486- as a kid.
I chose a Pentium III for this though because it's capable of playing the DOS games I used to play and Windows 98 games.
I have the monitor sitting on an old Syrian backgammon board
This is probably my best monitor. I found this one in storage at my dad's house back in 2018. It's a Micron branded Sony Trinitron. These monitors are probably the best looking CRTs I've ever seen.
For those who don't know Micron is the old name of Crucial.
Does this case have a model name? Someone asked me on YouTube cause they want to buy one and I want to give them an answer but as far as I know it's just a generic no-name case.
@compgeke
I don't have a problem with guns themselves but who the fuck goes shopping with an assault rifle strapped to them like that? Imagine everyone in the store's reaction if a black person did this.
I love that progman.exe and moricons.dll still exist in Windows XP so you can get all these original Windows 3.1 icons. I just made my Doom 3 Phobos mod the flower icon because this used to be my Supaplex icon on Windows 3.1.
Do these still exist in Windows 10 and 11?
Everyone remembers Doom guy and BJ Blazkowicz. But no one remembers Descent guy.
Probably for good reason cause man... this late 90s CG in Descent 3 aged like dog shit.
I have uploaded it to the internet archive which should be much more stable than the shitty-ass google drive. I apologize about that.

You were the most amazing person in my life. I will love you for all eternity. I didn't deserve you, not even the most amazing son in the world deserves you. You were too good for this world & I will never be the same without you. May you rest in peace mom.
And another game for the XP computer. I've heard a lot about Max Payne during the PS2 era growing up but never played it myself. Has anyone here played Max Payne before?
Every retro PC I build needs at least 3 sound hardwares.
This big-ass 486 has a Sound Blaster 16, Gravis Ultrasound and a Roland MT-32. Imagine how much money you had to spend on a setup like this.
This is my main Core 2 system and I'm trying to remember, do any bioses from this era support booting from USB?
It says USB-FDD, USB-ZIP and USB-CDROM but I don't know what in the donkey ass-fuck any of that is supposed to be.
Got a lot of people who've never played Descent before trying to tell me that this isn't an FPS game..
It's literally a first person shooter by every definition. Like what other genre could this possibly be?
You must have never even seen the game if you came to that conclusion
I just found a secret for my first time in Duke 3D, like since I first played it 27 years ago.
If you activate this cash register in E3M1 it opens a shitload of warps that take you to different parts of the map.
For those waiting on the new Doom who haven't dived into the custom Doom scene yet, I highly recommend checking out some of the Doom communities classics, and their new stuff too.
To this day after 30 years there is still amazing and high quality stuff being made for this game.
This bios is like caveman status, even by 386 standards. This screen here is literally all you get, no chipset options, no power management, no hard drive auto-detect, no ISA clock settings.
