@Ed_of_O @TerryC40058623 @TreyYingst I like the "it's complicated" part :). It sounds like the "you can have a civil union" is an easy way to avoid the strictures of religious marriage. They should only allow mixed-civil-unions in Gaza :)

Agreed. Tit-for-tat is a thing that is hard to break. Ben Gurion was right about how expelling arabs would generate resentment, but once that path was taken, they should have been as ruthless about it as any islamic state has been about ejecting jews. After wars, there is no right of return - and pretending that it could be negotiated, is a lie to the palestinans from their backers that has caused generations of suffering. At this point, I figure the least amount of suffering will be to relocate the Gazans, and establish the Gaza strip as a place where anyone peaceful is allowed to visit, but extremism and terrorists are not tolerated. There may be some residents, whom after relocation, will qualify to return in peace. But likely, the majority of them are going to be bitter clingers, as it were.

@Ed_of_O @TerryC40058623 @TreyYingst Now, that I could get behind. Begin a program where only mixed marriages are allowed in Gaza. Let the kids to to mosques and synagogues until they're 18 and they get to decide which path to follow.

I think both sides are more alike than they would like to admit, but it seems that this is either going to end with a mass killing of jews, or a mass migration of "palestinians". The fact that there are israeli arabs who live peacefully among jews, but there are no gazan jews who live peacefully among islamists, is a pretty good metric for me to decide which side is better. I vote deport hamas and its supporters from Gaza.

I suppose if they want to be allowed back, they'll have to repent and atone for their sins. Unless Gaza can become a place where jews and christians can live in peace and safety, why should islamist palestinians ever be allowed to return? If Gaza had spent the last 20 years trying to make their territory so safe that even jews could walk the streets at night, instead of ripping up sewage pipes to build rockets to kill jews, maybe we'd be in a better place today. Even though it's out of the box thinking, removing the belligerents from the conflict zone might be the best thing to do. After all, any number of muslim countries expelled jews when they became too problematic, maybe turnabout is fair play?

@Ed_of_O @kolatubosun @TreyYingst Is it important to keep trust with another party that doesn't keep trust? Are we obligated to play by rules of morality that aren't mutually held?

The "resisters" of American "imperialism" in Hawaii are a modern invention. After the overthrow of Queen Liliuokalani in 1893 by the local Committee of Safety, Hawaii was internationally recognized as a Republic, and sought annexation once Grover Cleveland (a friend of the queen) left office. We were annexed, and the Territory was run by native Hawaiians for decades before the Japanese became ascendant. Prince Kuhio was a congressional representative from the Territory of Hawaii, and Queen Liliuokalani proudly flew the American flag during WWI. So she got over her overthrow, and Hawaii became a state in 1959 with over 96% voting in favor, including all native Hawaiians. The leftist anti-imperialist activism only started in the 1970s, and has tried to build a race-based government where none has ever existed - the unified Kingdom of Hawaii, founded in 1810, was multi-racial from its inception, with King Kamehameha partnering with Europeans, including his son-in-law John Young, to unify the islands with western weapons and tactics. The Hawaiian Sovereignty movement is an artificial creation of corrupt leftist scholarship from the 1970s onward. The State of Hawaii is the true sovereign of the islands, and we are the most American state of the Union.

Everyone with gender dysphoria should be 4F. It's a tragic disease to have, and we can have all the compassion in the world for them, but they are not fit for service. They need the mental health treatment necessary for them to accept their healthy natural bodies.
SecDef Hegseth: “Effective immediately, all new accessions for individuals with a history of gender dysphoria are paused, and all unscheduled, scheduled, or planned medical procedures associated with affirming or facilitating a gender transition for Service members are paused.” America is healing!
