I have made a commitment to the Nasty Challenge. It is a lot harder to bulk up when you're over 50. But, I am doing it. I am currently down to my playing weight of 195...I just wish I felt 20 something years of age...ouch! Nasty, Joe...go get it done!

We came up short in the Southern California Bowl Game 56-48. I had the pleasure in working with outstanding offensive linemen and over-glorified offensive linemen (our runningbacks). Gentlemen, thank you for the great season.

Going out into the bush today. I am going on an adventure in my backyard. I caught the tree behind me on an adventure Friday. The villagers praised me with gifts and thanks for my bravery as I traveled into unknown charts of the world for my quest for the perfect tree.

My Son gave me a Nasty workout today. We got done with our flat bench, decline, and incline bench workouts--and shoulder press...three sets of seven: lower half curls, upper half of curls, and full curls...with a front grip and then reverse grips...I passed today's Challenge.

Advise to high school recruits. Even if you already committed to a program, do not burn a bridge with a recruiter by hanging up on him or her. With the portal action...you might need a program in the future.

I have read a lot of negativity on this post. Holding...please...can call that on every play if you want. This guy has a motor and an attitude. Love it! That is what the OL is all about. No OL coach is criticizing. Big guys are not nice; they get after it...period!

The LA Glazier Football clinic was good. The best part of the weekend was going to the football showcase in Irvine. Saw a lot of talented high school senior offensive linemen. Always enjoyable seeing young people work hard while having fun.

I was out in my home gym (my garage) lifting weights with my JUCO football playing son. I was power cleaning and tooted with every lift. Wow! The older I get the more snap, crackle, and popping sounds come out of my body. I am a walking firework show. My Son just laughed 😅

DCs are creatures of habit just like most OCs are. Chart their tendencies on defense...they have them, believe me. Then you know what you are going to see; it makes calling plays much easier on you and the kids know what is coming as well. Especially if you run the spread.
