I voted yes because I’m tired of seeing colleagues struggling to get by while delivering award-winning coverage of important local issues. Signed, a fed-up reporter who last got a raise when Obama was president.

I’m at Great Oak High School in Temecula, where students are walking out to protest the school district policy requiring parents to be told if their child identifies as transgender.
BREAKING: At current rate, Riverside County could have 1,000 deaths, 50K coronavirus cases by start of May. The county could run out of hospital capacity b/w April 12 and 21, officials say at a news conference.

So far, the only signs of activity are about half a dozen people who appear to be pro-Gaetz/MTG.
One is wearing a “Trump Won” t-shirt. Another is carrying an American flag.
Been seeing a lot of
@PeteButtigieg
in the news in recent days.
In case you missed it, here's my story from his visit to Scripps College in Claremont in late February.
Overheard: “There’s a lot of minorities here. So I don’t know how we can be racist.”
There are people of color here. Wouldn’t venture to guess how many.
One more thing -- I've gained ... quite a few followers since this afternoon.
Thank you for following. If you stick around, I promise engaging, insightful tweets and RTs of the wit and wisdom that only

Inland Empire is warehouse central, but how did it happen?
In the coming weeks, SCNG will be taking a deep dive into the logistics industry's impact on the Inland Empire.
This is the first installment. I've been working on it for several months. 1/3
I sent the following email to the sheriff's media information team at 3:36 p.m. Tuesday:
"To comply with the state's public health order, will RSO require twice-a-week COVID-19 testing for personnel working in jail facilities?"
I never heard back. 1/4
I’m walking out with my co-workers today in support of fair wages and a good Guild contract. I urge the company to bargain in good faith with us so that we get back to doing the journalism we love.

I'd like to thank everyone who's called, texted or emailed me with their kind word after what happened in Annapolis.
I'm still not sure if all my former colleagues are OK. And I'm kind of hoping this is a bad nightmare and I'll wake up soon. 1/3
BREAKING: Riverside County has been approved for the accelerated "Stage 2.5" of the governor's coronavirus reopening plan, Supervisor V. Manuel Perez said.
Story has been UPDATED -- at least 3 of 5 Riverside County supervisors have quarantined in response to a positive COVID test in the County Administrative Center in downtown Riverside.
Well that was fun!
In case you’re wondering, technically, I’m a reporter for

review of every potential case of voter fraud in the six battleground states disputed by former President Donald Trump has found fewer than 475 cases of fraud — a number so small it would have made no difference in the 2020 presidential election.
I THINK this is the final version of our story covering a wild day in OC and Inland politics

If elected, she'd be California's first openly transgender state lawmaker.

Folks, I’ve been fortunate enough to be a professional journalist for more than 20 years. Tonight is the first time I covered a public meeting that ended before it began.
More to come on
Thanks to

I'm getting some dinner. Good night and stay safe, everyone.

A few readers emailed me about some info they heard re:

and Riverside County - specifically, that patients are being "airlifted" from border areas to Riverside County hospitals per a state order and that's boosting the county's COVID numbers.
Here's what I know. 1/
I've picked up a number of followers in the past week or so.

Today marks the 3rd anniversary of the shooting at the Capital, my former paper. I worked w/Wendi, John, and Gerald.
May their memory be a blessing, may their loved ones find some relief from sorrow and may their legacy live on with every story The Capital publishes.

Commentary: Today, we will say their names and remember. We will say their names and cry. We will say their names and mourn. And we will say their names and celebrate. Wendi, Rob, Rebecca, John and Gerald.
When I read stories like this, I can't help but think that today's high schoolers need the same lesson I got that day.
Words matter. Gestures matter. It's up to us to break the cycle of hate that lays the groundwork for the next Emmett Till. 3/3
When I was in high school, someone left notes with racial slurs and "KKK" in Black students' lockers.
I was taking African-American studies at the time. The teacher was so furious, he used the classroom projector to show the photo of Emmett Till's mutilated body. 1/3
