Had THE best time meeting
@Milenasanchezx
@audreythefinest
@tolly_t
and
@kelechnekoff
🤗
After years of listening to their podcasts it deffo felt good to speak about about some of the topics in person. Proud of you all, never stop being the stars you are ❤️
Delighted to have been selected as the Labour candidate in
#DeBeauvoir
. To represent the neighborhood I grew up in would be an honour and I'm looking forward to being part of the fantastic work
@JoeWalkerUK
&
@HackneyLabour
have been delivering in the ward & across the borough 🌹
Honoured to be invited to
@SadiqKhan
's swearing in ceremony this morning. Incredible achievement to serve a third term as Mayor of London - excited to see you continue to deliver the best our city needs to thrive and be our best. Here's to

Great to have
@SadiqKhan
pop by to

Spent the weekend in Canterbury and the support for

is phenomenal. Rosie, your constituency is beautiful and I will one day buy a house here.

Yet the head of the met police doesn't want to accept there is institutional racism within the force? You cannot have the police investigating itself, nor can we keep having so-called leaders who fail to see what the reality is for young Black boys and men.
#justice4K
My nephew was on his way home from school & was randomly targeted by the police. When he asked why they wrestled him to the ground & put their knee on his neck.
@metpoliceuk
the way you target black children is DISGUSTING! You could have killed him!
#justice4K
So Cummings has just released yet another WhatsApp screenshot. I know I'm gonna play next week's
@SayYourMindPod
episode at least 3 times because the singlet tearing!? Oh I cannot wait. Feels like Christmas morning 😹
@kelechnekoff
please rest well ooo.
I think this is what I need to do in my little home office corner. Just have a wall of all my achievements cos sometimes I really do be forgetting who TF I am 😭
Oh no, I still get that sometimes. I’m just compassionate with myself through those feelings. I also work really hard at uplifting myself when imposter syndrome creeps in. I actually have a wall in my apartment dedicated to my achievements to help me tackle my imposter syndrome.
The sheer excitement watching
@kelechnekoff
on my TV! 🤗
After seeing
@_queenmojo
pole training my mum now also wants to try pole! Dunno how she's gonna manage that with a bad hip though lol
This is why I say in my role as a Race Equality Network lead, it's not enough to call yourself an ally, you have to be a co-conspirator. How are you using your privilege & power to give Black people, especially Black women, a voice in spaces where they continue to remain unheard?
On eve of the poll, I'd like to thank all campaigners, supporters, & residents who've helped with my campaign. Your time & support has been invaluable, & I've loved the conversations on the doorstep. Remember, tomorrow, Vote Labour! 🌹

2 days to go! To represent the neighborhood I grew up in would be a huge honour. I am committed to ensuring

It's fantastic to be back in

Fantastic campaign launch for the next Labour councillor of

Funny how every single time there's an emergency that big bumbahole is always on his holibobs. Time and time again they show they are incapable of leading this country but somehow people will still defend him and his so-called record.
What rubbish and nonsense 🙄
Just a reminder that our Prime Minister and Chancellor are both on holiday while the economy is in free fall 🤣 in some jobs, if there’s a big emergency where your decision-making is needed, then your holiday is getting cut short ASAP.
All of this! 👏🏾
Also, many houses/new builds that do go up only have on average a max of 3 bedrooms. We housing that accommodates large families, which again is more often marginalised communities who have a multi-generational household.
It's taken me a while to read
@t0nit0ne
's book
#IWIKTE
and it's taken a while partly because I'm a slow reader (🤦🏽♀️) but also because I've been doing a lot of processing especially the chapter on dating. THAT REALLY spoke to my inner self...
(Thread incoming)
Thank God I bought a ticket for the final
@SayYourMindPod
live show because in-person tickets sold out!
@kelechnekoff
as you leave one chapter & enter a new one, just want to say thank you for all the wise words, laughter & all round fun! Looking forward to the Keleidescope! 😝
Govt is clearly preparing for the Mayoral elections next year. Above all, govt is always thinking about the next election. In forcing Khan to accept these proposals they know it'll make him look bad & turn support to the conservative candidate

are up! Thank you for the experience & friendships. Birkbeck has allowed me to realise my passion in politics and policy. I will be taking a break from academia but I cannot wait to use all I've learnt in my work and career. Bon voyage! ❤️
Polls have now closed! What an incredible campaign 👏🏾
Thank you to every single person who has voted, knocked doors, leafleted & spread the word. We've worked incredibly hard to push my message & commitment to

Finally got my dissertation results today and I am VERY pleased with my final results. To celebrate, I have now published my thesis on Medium. I present to you my longest piece of writing to date:
Great to be back in Hackney to start a busy campaign weekend across our city.
This Thursday, Londoners have one vote for Mayor in what is a close two-horse race between me & the hard right Tory candidate.

Can't believe it's been almost 10 years! It was good to be back where it all started! Did some filming for the next

Out tonight with team

A good number of people already sent in their postal votes too! 🗳️
Thank you to Canonbury ward for hosting me and De Beauvoir ward members. Looking forward to working together moving forward, especially as we transition into Islington South constituency after the General Election. 🌹
A gentle start post-election as Canonbury and De Beauvoir wards join forces for their May Ward meeting. Updates by councillors and good discussions were had. Members of both wards very welcome in June. DM for details 👍

How can you meet THE BOY GEORGE and not have a clue? Ah my mum would've been so disappointed if I told her I met Boy George and didn't realise who he was 🤣
With 3 days to go, it was lovely for the ☀️ to come out this evening as we spoke to more residents.

Just finished my weekly ward walkabout - always lovely seeing

basking in the beautiful sunshine! Southgate Road works on the Hackney side are underway. Picked up issues with

users continuing to carelessly dump bikes on Northchurch Rd. Will follow up!
It's Polling Day! 🤗
If you live in

Don’t forget to take photo ID with you and use all four votes for Labour 🌹🗳️
London: polls are open across our city - and your vote matters.
The choice is clear: a Tory candidate who doesn’t share London’s values, or my plans for a fairer, safer & greener city for all Londoners.
If you love London - vote for it.

I feel this. It's been 3 weeks since my grandad passed and I've not cried once. I think because we knew he was dying, I wasn't distraught like the rest of my family.
The way
@kelechnekoff
intentionally butchers these wayward Tories names has me in TEARS! Not Suella BathroomTub 😭😭😭🤣🤣
@SayYourMindPod
you are just the best *chef's kiss*
It's been a lovely event hearing the insights of policy influencers and experts in their field at the
#TheBlackPolicyInstitute
event today. Black voices must be included when developing policy that will influence not just our present but future generations too. ✊🏾
It was lovely to attend the Table Top sale yesterday at
@CribYouth
. Despite the pouring rain, it didn't stop
#DeBeauvoir
residents from coming together and going ahead.
A special thanks to Elif who makes all of this possible. ❤️
Penultimate week of campaigning! This evening, we've been continuing to engage with residents & encouraging postal voters to get out their vote ASAP.
There is also still time to apply for a voter authority certificate if you have no ID 🪪 Apply by 5pm, Weds 17th April

Just came back from watching 'For Black Boys Who Have Considered Suicide When The Hue Gets Too Heavy' & what a show it was. It is THE best theatre show I've gone to see. Actors were flawless, issues raised were done in a poignant way. I'll be thinking about this for a long time
Happy carers week to all my fellow carers! This year's theme is 'putting carers on the map'. In this election, we must ensure there are policies that enable support for carers and addresses the pressures we face. For info about events in your area, head to

CONGRATULATIONS TO BEN LUCAS, Hackney Labour's candidate for Hoxton West Ward by-election on June 27. Ben is a tireless campaigner in the ward on the doorstep - and is fighting for improved housing repairs, tackling anti-social behaviour and private renters issues.

I’m not sure how many of my followers are on a workout journey, but I wanted to say KEEP GOING.
Take pride in building your endurance if nothing else.
Today I did a HIIT workout and wasn’t keeling over in misery during/after. I feel great. That’s that persistence+consistency!
Since I was selected, it's been a phenomenal 2 weeks of campaigning in the area I grew up in, talking to residents about the issues that matter to them. Being able to relate to the lived experiences of local people is important to me & I'm grateful for the support I've received..
