More LiquiGen progress! We're working on adding additional detail through whitewater sims. There are a few issues with the sim here but it's all promising R&D! This is all running in real-time.
#realtimeVFX
Animated an emitter to test our velocity inheritance functionality. Simulation is using combustible fuel this time around! Created with EmberGen, and as always this is running in real-time within our software.
#realtimevfx
There isn't any 'emitter' geometry here in EmberGen, the smoke is sourced from the velocity and vorticity of a procedural vector field (from VectorayGen)
Inheriting velocity from emitter movement is quite fun, especially when your simulations are real-time and volumetric! Created within EmberGen.

An excellent demonstration of what
#EmberGen
is capable of for film usage. ~1 second per frame, but that's a lot of particle trails and a high voxel resolution!
Two days until EmberGen 1.0 launch! This is truly the most powerful real-time volumetric fluid simulation tool ever made. Unprecedented quality in a fraction of the time for both games and film. Keep an eye out for our trailer and live stream on
EmberGen 1.0 is now available!! Grab the latest release by running your installed version or by going to 🎉

Here are a few tests we did yesterday with our new emissive scattering implementation.
This adds a serious WOW factor to EmberGen, because it gives your simulations so much more character and depth.

To celebrate
@blender_org
's VDB integration, we've decided to release a set of high fidelity VDB simulations generated with
#EmberGen
. These are licensed under CC0 (Public Domain). Go download them now and 🔄 this to spread the word!

#vfx
Today we released 9 new VDB sets into the public domain! Use these VDB's for your projects, even commercially, and spread the word. It's not often animated sets are free. We've added new explosions, clouds, tornados, plumes and more!

You're really able to crank the detail in our upcoming EmberGen 1.0 build. Simulated and Rendered in EmberGen. Many improvements coming soon!

Pro Tip💥: If you want a *GUARANTEED* job in the games industry, learn how to create VFX/Particles for games. The demand is sky high with many open positions, and its arguably the funnest job you could possibly get. 🔄

Today our R&D Expert
@Gaxil
came up with a beautiful emissive scattering method for our real-time fluid simulations. Performance impact is negligible.

EmberGen 1.1 improvements: New gradient color picker features for easy realistic shading, insanely accurate collisions and collider velocities, new pressure system, big performance increases, and a heck of a lot more!
One big thing we've been missing in EmberGen is the ability to emit smoke, fire, and fuel from millions of GPU particles. R&D is still on-going, but we hope to have this out in an update soon enough.

EmberGen 1.1 is getting better and better! Get ready for major improvements for velocity transfer and collisions. 🔥
Left: Old Version | Right: New and Improved
EmberGen 1.1 has been released! Enjoy major improvements to quality, accuracy, and performance. With over 62 new and improved presets you'll have a fantastic headstart on the new update!
Remember when making games was actually fun? I'm talking 10 or 15 years ago in the prime time of originality, new studios, endless possibilities, and modding. Do you remember the time when working in games seemed like the coolest job on earth? I want you to think back on some of
In 7 days (November 1st) we will be releasing EmberGen 0.7.5 to the public!
@OTOY
subscribers will get the build as well as anyone who wants to try it from our website on release day. Be prepared to unleash real-time digital hellfire for your projects with ease!
#realtimeVFX
We've made more advancements in our real-time smoke rendering and now have phase function light scattering to produce more realistic results. Beautiful!

We spent this morning working with some of our pyro shader updates. Plane exploding midair maybe?

We have teamed up with

to provide EmberGen free for the month of August to entrants of the Boss Fight 3D Community Challenge. You can grab your free month here:
The top 5 winners of the challenge will also recieve a permanent license to our
More tests of our new combustion system. These are a bit higher resolution than usual, so they ran at 15FPS on a GTX 1080. They were rendered at 30 FPS using our new direct viewport capture tool. We can certainly still say that they were simulated and rendered in real-time. :)
EmberGen 0.7.5 pre-release 4 has just been released on our discord server for licensed users. Exports have been fixed, over 20 new presets, and a lot more! We're inching ever closer to an official 0.7.5 public release.

We're working on an entirely new set of free CC0 VDB's for the community and this is just a small look at what's to come.
Color gradients! Cringe no more at blackbody only shading. Same sim setup in the video, just different coloring methods. Coming soon when the EmberGen beta releases.

Quick tweet showing another milestone in our fluid simulations: Lighting & Shadows!
As always, it's running in real-time. Couldn't test without hitting bounds in the current build sadly. It still looks incredible!
#realtimevfx
We're hard at work on a new combustion system that makes it easier to produce realistic simulations. In this case we also have ground collisions and fuel visualization. Quite awesome how it combusts.
As always this is real-time inside of
#embergen
.
#realtimeVFX
More simulation upscaling R&D within
#EmberGen
. There is bug in the upscaled version, let us know if you spot it. 🔥
Left simulation: 60+FPS real-time
Right: 2-3 FPS (worth it though)
This used a GTX 1080, but would run much faster on an RTX 2080 TI.

We decided to put up a comparison video to show just how much the renderer has improved by adding our phase function scattering algorithm.

Smoke sim and rendering is real-time as always. 🔥
We just released our first premium preset pack for EmberGen. 50 amazing cloud projects for you to start using in your projects. It's better than a VDB pack since you can easily generate random variations yourself.
2 years ago we released a few VDB sets for free under CC0 - Public domain licensing. We've been working on new VDB sets for months and here's a first look at one of the many new sets to come. All sets will include the embergen presets used and this will all be provided for free!
Testing both collision and emission from meshes in our internal

This feature set should be out sometime next month and still runs in real-time!
Today is the final day of our EmberGen sale! Create simulations and renders like the one you see below in a fraction of the time you usually spend in other tools. Learn more at:
