Shoutout to the heroes of the Artemis I Space Launch System's third launch attempt, the "red crew": Jacobs/TOSC ERC employees Billy Cairns, Chad Garrett, and Trent Annis.
Gotta be some of the absolute bravest men out there.

You may think that rollout for NASA's behemoth SLS Moon rocket begins on Thursday...
But, surprise, you'd be wrong!
It starts today. The Crawler is rollin!

A personal update to share: today has been my last day as a space reporter.
Working with amazing people to tell interesting stories has been incredible. But starting next week, I'll share the story of space as part of the public affairs writing team at Kennedy Space Center. 🚀
At 8:46am EDT on Thursday, September 4, 2020, the SpaceX Falcon 9 sent the next batch of 60 Starlink satellites to orbit from LC-39A at Kennedy Space Center.
What are your opinions on my shot from this morning?
I'm very conflicted about it. The haze was difficult today.
So what are your plans this weekend because mine are:
ULA Delta IV Heavy NROL-44 Sat 8/29 2:04am EDT
Rocket Lab Electron 14 Sat 8/29 11:05pm EDT
SpaceX Starlink Sunday 8/30 10:12am EDT
SpaceX SAOCOM-1B Sunday 8/30 7:19pm EDT
(& maybe a SpaceX Starship hop!)
If you look closely, you'll notice the members of
#Crew2
aren't *just* holding up two fingers, but dirty fingers because they've marked their initials in the soot of their reflow
#Falcon9
booster behind them.
Possible new crew tradition only applicable to

crews??

Rehearsal
I'll tell ya, I was a little defeated last week because I sent out an email to my entire school's staff about viewing the Crew-1 launch & not a single person replied.
But this morning, the amount of "Ms. Groh I SAW THE ASTRONAUTS!!!" comments I'm getting is giving me life! 🚀
I think Bill Gerstenmaier of SpaceX just solved the vocabulary of it all by referring to NASA astronauts as "government astronauts" & Axiom astronauts as "private astronauts."
This seems to be an issue when referring to anyone who ends up in space, including suborbital visitors.
While I was sleeping China launched a Long March 5B rocket & the core module of a new space station, SpaceX launched a Falcon 9 & 60 satellites, and Arianespace launched a Vega rocket & some satellites. Now, NASA is offloading the SLS core stage.
Getting busy in the space realm.
The first step of reliable reusability was landing without blowing up. The next will be the ultimate stress test, doing it all again.

Guys, NASA had money invested into Starship before HLS. SpaceX operating the Starship program with government money...is not new.
In 2019 NASA awarded the SpaceX Starship program $3M.
In 2020 NASA awarded the SpaceX Starship program another $53M for a large scale flight demo.
Try explaining to someone in 1921 that a rocket company trying to make it to Mars uses robot spy drones to check on rockets that have launched and landed.
A hundred years can really change the planet.
