@carolvorders @DanNeidle About PPE. I was a nurse during the first wave. Given 1 paper mask for a whole shift with 38 positive patients. No other protection available. My viral upload was huge. 5 weeks on a ventilator. Now permanently disabled and will never work again. And she thinks she’s had it hard?

@MichaelRosenYes I’m a nurse who was ventilated. Right before they put me out, my consultant told me that only one in five of patients in my situation were surviving ventilation. That was my last thought. But I had no other option. If they didn’t ventilate, I would’ve been dead in 10 minutes.

@Nurseborisbash I managed at home for a week. Felt ‘fluey’ with a lack of smell. Angharad ordered on oximeter from Amazon and put it on my finger as soon as it arrived. Sats were 72%. I felt perfectly fine. ICU and ventilated five days later.

Exactly 1 week after waking from my coma, I was being discharged home. I’d learned to walk, talk and eat all over again. I wanted home and nothing was going to stop me. This is me adding my name to the top of the Covid discharge tree. Far too many were buried beneath it. 😔

@pablo_botw @kentish_made @e2130 Unlucky is forgetting to put your bin out on the right day. And my post is time comparative, nothing more.

@MarcusFitzsimon I’m sorry, I don’t remember you being in that corridor to see the context? You also clearly have no idea regarding acquired immunity and virology so you’re probably best not posting anything that is misleading.

@highamnoone @PeteKearton The writer was a doctor on the frontline. Maybe she should’ve consulted with Dave from The Nags Head then, eh?

@genericeddie @MichaelRosenYes So, you’re suggesting that I nearly died because of my choice of analgesia? Okay then.

@doctor_oxford The very same night I caught the virus, I had to FaceTime a patient’s nearest relative so that he could say goodbye because he was vulnerable himself and couldn’t visit. Moments after the call, she passed away. 92 years of life and that virus stripped her of any final dignity.

@beverleyturner In her defence, you claim to be a news presenter, yet you work for GBeebies. 🤷🏻

@brianmcdonagh @fesshole Still calling bullshit. Only just become available on draught in Ireland from November last year. Which golf club has a captains day middle of the winter? 🤷🏻

@Joey7Barton Mate, it’s not a crime? You’ve claimed to be able to manage a football club a few times. 🤷🏻

Today I formatted Angharad’s account of my time in ICU. She bares her soul and you get to experience her at her most vulnerable. What you also see is her strength and resilience in not giving up on me. It’s compelling and graphic. I’m a very lucky man, in more ways than one.

@long_covid finding this account is a Godsend for me. I was a nurse during the first wave. Spent 34 days ventilated due to poor PPE provision. Now permanently disabled with LC and ICU Trauma. A career in tatters. I feel abandoned and left to rot.
