Ordained a Priest, Friday 30th June 2023. Deo gratias.
Thank you to everyone who has helped me get to this point and
has journeyed alongside me as I answered God’s call.
Thank you to everyone who came to support me last night.
Many more photos to follow.
@diostalbans
This morning I celebrated the Holy Mass for the First time, and it just felt so right!
Thank you so much to everyone who made today so special.
@diostalbans
I'm delighted to say that, God-willing, I will be ordained to the Priesthood on Friday 30th June 2023 at St Mary’s, Hitchin.
I will celebrate the Holy Mass for the first time on Sunday 2nd July 2023 at St Mary’s, Ware.
All are welcome and your prayers are much appreciated.
It is with immense joy and excitement to share some good news.
Yesterday, I received a letter from The Lord Bishop of St Albans informing me that he has accepted the recommendation that I train for Ordained Ministry as a Priest in the Church of England!
Ending my Deacon’s Year on an immense high by deaconing for the Alban Pilgrimage Festival Mass
@StAlbansCath
. Such a privilege to deacon in the place which was and is home, and played a key role in my formation.
Even got a selfie with some of my
@SeaCadetsUK
from TS St Albans.
It was wonderful to celebrate Sea Sunday with congregations at St Augustine’s, Broxbourne and St Laurence’s, Wormley, and to preach at their various services. They are long-time supporters of
@FlyingAngelNews
and it was lovely to pray together for seafarers.

So good to be back visiting ships as an Honorary Chaplain in the Port of London, and to be working alongside the brilliant chaplain there.

Today Hertfordshire District Sea Cadets held their Trafalgar Day Parade and Service. We had 175 cadets, including the other services, plus staff and a Royal Navy Band on parade. They smashed it and I’m so proud of them all. It’s a honour to serve as their District Chaplain.
Wishing friends around the world, ashore and at sea, a very Merry Christmas!
It’s been a wonderful first Christmas in Holy Orders, made all the better by having my good friend Kenson staying with us and sitting on the organ bench playing for our Masses at St Mary’s-Ware.
Yea, Lord, we greet Thee, born this happy morning;
O come, let us adore Him, Christ, the Lord!
My first Midnight Mass as a priest and it was so special in so many ways, such a sacred privilege .
Merry Christmas all!
This morning I had the privilege & honour of preaching at
@HullMinster
for the City’s Civic Sailors Service. I really enjoyed myself & it was great to speak with so many people afterwards. Thank you to Revd Canon Dr Neal Barnes for the invitation & to my team for their support.
This is so so so good to see! This Seafarers Centre was opened on my last in post as Chaplain to the Humber Ports, and was one of my proudest achievements whilst in post.
Thank you for all who continue to care for it!

Today marks two years since we opened our Groveport seafarers' centre! We thank our amazing volunteers, Christine and Tim Edwards (centre), who've been supporting seafarers with dedication.
@OurCofELike
It has been fascinating to follow you this week, thank you! I will hopefully be going on placement with the RN chaplaincy before I finish at
@Westcott_House
in June or as part of my curacy. God bless you, and thank you for your service to the United Kingdom.
A very cold, snowy and windy day for ship visiting in the ports of Hull and Goole. 8 ships visited in total, and my last visit was a wonderful visit to the Turkish crew of M/V Ruth. Some lovely Turkish tea warmed me up, and I thoroughly enjoyed our conversations.

It is with deep sorrow that Her Majesty The Queen has announced the death of her beloved husband, His Royal Highness The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh.
His Royal Highness passed away peacefully this morning at Windsor Castle.
Very sad to see Fr Jeffrey leave
@StAlbansCath
.
Thank you, Mr Dean.
May the angels of God watch over you; may the prayers of Our Lady Mary, St Alban, St Amphibalus and all the saints surround and sustain you.
My wonderful colleague and his church are doing a sponsored Bible reading for charity, and one of the charities they are supporting is
@FlyingAngelNews
. Please do support them and the work of MtS if you can.
Watch the heart warming moment when CPO Garner and the
#AETNE
team met Taeghan after she was bullied for wearing her

uniform to school on Remembrance Day. Taeghan, you’re an inspiration to the entire cadet family, ignore the bullies, we’ve got your back🇬🇧

@FlyingAngelNews
Sorry to hear that you are leaving! Thank you for all that you have done over the years, it was a pleasure working with you during my time at MtS.
Lee Anderson MP ought to reflect on his behaviour and how he spoke to the Commissioner during this Committee. His behaviour was unacceptable. The Commissioner treated his questions with the contempt they deserved.
A gorgeous day for ship visiting and great to meet Carl from M/V Moscow Maersk.
Also spoke to one Ukrainian seafarer who when I asked how his family was replied, ‘They are okay at the moment, there is no fighting in my city but I don’t know what will happen tomorrow’.
Articles 1 & 3 of the
@UN
Declaration of Human Rights states, ‘All human beings are born free & equal in dignity & rights. Everyone has the right to life, liberty & security of person.’ Thank you
@RNLI
for your courageous work & for ensuring that no one is left to peril at sea.
We're proud of the lifesaving work our volunteers do in the Channel – we make no apology for it. Those we rescue are vulnerable people in danger & distress. Each of them is someone’s father, mother, son or daughter - every life is precious. This is why we launch:
It was wonderful to be at St Mary’s, Addington to preach and subdeacon for their Sea Sunday service yesterday. Thank you to Revd Barbara and the whole church community for the warm welcome and support. I had a lovely morning.

Oh little town of Bethlehem, how still we see thee lie
Above thy deep and dreamless sleep the silent stars go by
Yet in thy dark streets shineth, the everlasting light
The hopes and fears of all the years are met in thee tonight.

It was lovely to be reading
@ChurchTimes
and to see the face of the late Reverend Canon Ken Peters, former Director of Justice at Mission to Seafarers, and to read the obituary written by his successor
@MtSBenBailey
. Canon Ken was definitely ‘one of the greats’ at MtS.
It was a privilege to march through Ware with T.S. Dreadnought this afternoon as we remembered those who have served this country, and committed ourselves to working for a better future.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning, we will remember them.
Wishing family and friends ashore and at sea a very Merry and blessed Christmas.
