Alright I've calmed down so thoughts on the Re:Zero trailer...
THE GOOD:
- The new art style is AMAZING. I'm still partial to S1 but this is very endearing and nice.
- Updated character designs for Capella and Liliana are fantastic. Liliana may not be unwatchable anymore!

Actually from the way they made Julius prettier and toned down the most male gazey designs, my guess is that someone at Kadokawa finally realized that Re:Zero has a sizeable female audience (and we might even be getting figures of the boys soon)

Yeah I’m convinced you guys didn’t read the manga and just liked looking at pretty colors on the covers because the CSM you propose is so antithetical to the kind of story it is.
There are a billion shows with that kind of bombastic direction, I’m happy we got an ACTUAL vision.

Re:Zero is constantly raging a war against both incels who felt increasingly aggravated at Subaru’s spiral, and zoomers who classify it as slop because they SEE the typical isekai imagery & beats, but their media literacy stops there as they do not question *why* it is that way
Maybe don't watch the dogshit ones like "The Time I Reincarnated as my Dragon Sister's Panties" and check out stuff like Re: Zero

Tappei Nagatsuki revealed in an interview that his character inspiration for Reinhard came from acclaimed Shonen Jump series Jujutsu Kaisen’s Gojo Satoru.
“I was inspired by Akutami-sensei’s Shibuya Incident when I drafted the climax for Re:Zero. Please look forward to it!”

One of the biggest misconceptions I see about Re:ZERO is that Rem's devotion is a form of all-accepting love. This is yet another instance of taking the story & characters a bit too much at face value, ignoring the subtext and subtleties within the narrative.
