@cyclonicwx Is there any chance you could implement a graphic depicting the RTMA / METAR vs Models? Like say if a cold front was advancing faster / colder than forecast? I'm sure it would be recognizable via a run being too warm or conservative (like say NAM3km / HRRR).

@MaxVelocityWX @generalpotato24 Potentially caused by waste fluid injection too, wouldn't surprise me with its intensity.

@WhidbeyWXGuy @JeremyDeHartWX Based off POTD, seems like a portion of the sondes will be assimilated into the 00z suite and the rest into the 06z suite.

@webberweather This pattern is so finicky here in Texas, there's such a battle between these air masses constantly.

@WeatherCast3 This strong consensus also constitutes lots of flooding potential. How widespread it may be is dependent on how that trough (6-7 days~) near SE NM will progress into the first week of February. Lots to watch here, especially if the SE ridge is nudged a *tad* eastward.

@ChrisMartzWX Not as much as I was expecting, it was about 2.1" when it stopped snowing. 3 miles south of Conroe, TX.

As of 12:50am 1/22/25, Lafayette has tied its all-time record low at 6F. If CAMs hold true, this record could be broken before sunrise. #lawx

Seems like most of Texas is experiencing a calm / clear night, with radiative cooling taking place. This was broadly expected by NWS, however some CAMs were lenient. This would also be my area's first night <20F, quite chilly (just not as much as Lafayette over there). #txwx
Quite a bit cooler than forecast in Far West San Antonio tonight. First sub 20 temperatures of the season! #txwx 🥶

@SteveWAFB I was just talking about this myself. Surface obs suggest that areas near Lafayette are experiencing freezing fog, possibly aiding in the process of radiative cooling. CAMs suggested this possibility, however some of them bring temps <0F, which is just unheard of there.

There is no doubt in my mind that this freezing fog is accelerating the rate of radiative cooling. If this continues on like CAMs expect, it could break the all-time record lows for this area. #lawx
