Jones is playing the best hockey of his career since Troubs injury. Lavi has a tough decision to make when he’s able to return. However there’s no doubt now even after adding Ruhwedel, Jones is still the 7D. Also can comfortably be 3LD next season. Glad we didn’t move him.

Not sure what it would take (I’m sure a lot) but a Vatrano/Henrique package makes a lot of sense. Frank takes his spot with 20/93 and Henrique fills the 3C hole for the rest of this season. Then next season hopefully Fil can be the 3C again plus you still have Frank.

Wow Lavi continues to impress me. Seems every coach has their favorite they refuse to sit even if they should. I truly thought for Lavi it was gonna be Bonino. Great to see him sit a favorite like that for Pitlick who has been better on that 4th line with Goody and Vesey.

Overall I’m pleased with what the Rangers did this deadline. They address their needs at RW, C and D with solid players without giving up their 1st or prospects. I know it’s not an exciting haul but it reminds me of the 22 year. Come playoffs up to top players to lead way.

If someone told me we would start the playoffs 7-1 I would take it. The Rangers did what they needed to do and took a game in Carolina. Would have been nice but hard to believe the Canes getting swept. Let’s make sure we’re ready to take care of business at home in Game 5.

After sleeping on it I’m cautiously optimistic. While it wasn’t a great time for a stinker it was clearly their worst game of the playoffs (Game 4 they played well enough to win). If this is truly the team we saw all year then they can respond the right way and get it done.

So impressive to think the Rangers possibly played their best game on the 5th game of a 7 day stretch. Nice to see them get contributions throughout the lineup especially from the bottom six. Now let’s hope Lindy isn’t seriously hurt. Good thing we added Ruhwedel though.

I will say if the Rangers were playing like this last season Jaro wouldn’t have lost his first 6 games. He wasn’t that bad plus had no offensive support and no where close to the defensive play. That being said I agree Drury did a good job improving depth with limited cap space

Glad the Rangers won and found a way to get the extra point but this feels like a step back from the Aves/Tampa wins. Team has to stop playing to the level of their competition. On a positive note nice to see the 3rd line score, Mika get a big goal and Igor get a win.

Assuming you can get both for 1st/Othmann while Guentzel is the better playoff performer it’s prob only for this season. Whereas with Buch it’s 2 seasons and I feel like if anyone can boost 20/93 it’s him. Just hope we end up with one of them

I gotta say I never understood the Lavi hate. I get people want the fresh face and a “retread” that is on his 6th team doesn’t look great on the surface. However this is a guy who won a Stanley Cup and took two other teams to the final. Wherever he goes teams have success.

Wasn’t looking good early on but credit the Rangers for battling back to get a much needed win. After a rough start himself Igor stood tall the rest of the game. The power play comes up big with 2 goals. Great game from the 3rd line as well especially Cuylle.

Say what you want about the potential missed calls in OT but it shouldn’t have gotten to that point. You’re up 2-0 to the worst team in the league and blow it. PP had plenty of chances to build or retake the league and couldn’t muster anything. Bad loss to end a rough trip.

Another solid win for the Rangers against a desperate Red Wings team. Think tonight showed the bottom six is best with Cuylle on the 3rd line. Also Jonny made a strong case on the 4th line. Goody with 2 big goals. The top guys get it done on the PP in the 3rd period.

Nice bounce back win for the Rangers. Wasn’t the best 1st period but huge credit to Quick for keeping us in it. Also is now tied for most wins by U.S born goalies. Another strong game for Bread getting the hat trick. Also a big goal by Foxy to put us up for good.

Glad the Rangers found a way to win and take that commanding 3-0 series lead. Igor and the PK were sensational and the PP gets a huge goal. That being said the Rangers need to be more disciplined. While the PK has been great we can’t be taking 7 penalties in a game.

Well I feel better about not getting Guentzel. Rangers made their best offer and Pens just didn’t want to deal with them. Nothing you can do about that. Don’t need to give all that up for a rental anyway.

I have a hot take. This isn’t that bad.
56-8 have been an absolute dumpster fire. You can shelter them all you want; when they’re on the ice, they get caved in and give up goals (literally all of the goals).
Going on the road, that pair will be EXPLOITED to put it mildly.

While the Rangers need to clean up defensively this was a fun win. Congrats to Quick on becoming the winningest U.S. goaltender. Awesome team celebration at the end. Also congrats to Kreids on 300 goals. Thought the first should have counted. Plus Laf’s first ever 🎩 trick!

Definitely a disappointing performance tonight from the Rangers knowing the opportunity they just blew. However they are still up and have an opportunity to end the series in Carolina. In order to do that though the Rangers top players and PP must be better in Game 6.

Regarding Lindy extension: while I understand the concern with this being another G/Staal situation I do see one small but possibly big difference. G/Staal signed their big deals at the ages of 28/29. Lindy is still only 26. Even a 5 year deal barely enters his 30s.

Great win by the Rangers to start the series. Had concerns they could be rusty from the time off but they came out and had a solid 1st period. Special teams will be important and they won them today. Also great to see Mika, Troch and Bread lead the way. Defended well also.

Awesome to see Mika be named the 2nd star of the week. After a slow start to the season he has really come on of late. Not only on the PP but his line with Kreids and Wheels is picking up the slack at 5 v 5. No doubt though for that line to succeed Mika has to drive the bus.

For the Steven McDonald Award you can look at 16 who has stepped up admirably into the 2C role since 72 injury. 32 who after a rough preseason has helped keep the team afloat through Igor’s up and downs. Or 50 who as a rookie has become such an important part of this team.

The past couple nights show the 4th win is the hardest to get. The Rangers sweep of the Caps shouldn’t be taken lightly. Also not surprised a team like the Canes aren’t going down without a fight. They have to give themselves a chance to win tomorrow like they did in Game 4.

The thought process should be to find the next Vatrano not pay a bunch more to bring him back. To me Duclair has some similarities to Vatrano. Speed and skill. Could see him playing a similar role with 20/93 for less than Vatrano now.

While yesterday was more annoying than anything because they had a chance to win and silly mistakes cost them that’s also a reason to be encouraged. The Rangers were a goal Igor usually saves away from possibly beating Florida. They showed they can hang with the East beasts.

Well it appears Cuylle will in fact play tonight and likely return to his spot on the 3rd line with 91/24 with Rempe on the 4th with 26/21. I’m glad to see this I believe as long as Rempe doesn’t cross the line these are the Rangers best 4 lines come the playoffs.

I’m not worried about Cuylle he will be in the playoff lineup. However I think Lavi needs to break up the checking unit as the Rangers best 3rd line consists of 50-91-24. As for the 4th line still like the idea of 26-21-73 or Eddy. Jonny is just fine as the 13F in this case.

I remember not wanting Cuylle to play top six RW to start the season considering he’s barely played that side before. However this is a kid who has succeeded in every role he’s been given. Also considering our lack of options there he’s certainly earned a shot in that spot.

This is tough to say but Bonino. Can’t break up the Vesey-Goodrow-Pitlick line the way they have played since being put together. I also want to see if Cuylle-Chytil-Kakko could be Kid Line 2.0. Like you said good problem to have though if he’s our 13F

This tells me Drury just might not have a desire to use his 1st/top prospects in this market which I can’t fully blame him. Prob looking at a 2nd and prospect for a center (Wennberg?) and even less for a wing (Duclair?). However Drury is so tight lipped is this even true?

With the Rangers likely adding that 1RW and 3C question is should they add a depth forward or dman as their 3rd piece. Think it comes down to do you need to upgrade a 12/13/14 forward group of Brod/Eddy/Rempe or a 6/7/8 dman group of Gus/Jones/Mackey? Think I lean defense.

I fully understand wanting to be cautious about what to give Lindy on his next deal. However what I don’t understand is the willingness to just send him packing considering his importance to the team on and off the ice. If the price is right you have to try hard to keep him.

Drury does tend to make one move ahead of the deadline (Vatrano 22, Tarasenko/Mikkola 23). Assuming he is making at least two moves wouldn’t surprise me to see one this coming week and the other next week closer to deadline day.

Only caught the end of the game but another nice comeback win for the Rangers against a team like the Aves in their building. Igor was sensational especially in the OT. Nice goals by Bread and Troch in the shootout. Also great to see Kakko get a big goal in the 3rd.

Wow so proud of this team tonight what a game. When they were down they battled back. When they had to kill a penalty with the game on the line twice they got it done. Then when the PP had the chance to end it Troch and the guys capitalized. Also what a game from Laffy.

What a feeling to walk out of TD Garden with the W. Best part was seeing both Igor and the defensive play look much better to keep it close throughout. Vinny Troch comes up clutch with the PP goal to tie it and the game winner in OT. Much needed bounce back weekend.

Great win for the Rangers. Huge props to the PK for killing that 5 min major to start the game. Could have been a very different result if not for that. Shame Igor didn’t get the shutout but at least he wasn’t too busy and had a sweet assist. Laf with a solid 2 goal game.

On defense while it’s unfortunate Jones is the odd man out the way he’s played I understand Lavi wanting to go with the 6 guys used the majority of the season. However right now 79-4 and 56-8 should be together. Also if someone continues to struggle give Jones a chance.
