Much better! still to be improved tho , i gotta do something for the driver aswell. I wanna have a more lived in vibe to the garage at somepoint, kinda like BRCF's hub, but with cars. but that'll come when I can put my full focus on art.

The demo for this recently dropped , and its amazing ,incredibly tight feeling Fzero type game. genuinely the best racing experience ive had since Fzero GX. If you havent already, give it go! this games gonna be legendary.

Added skidmarks, also a bit worried that walls might knock you too far but its a really hard thing to balance. if the force when hitting the wall is low then you get stuck in corners on turns , if its too high you get knocked into the other wall. also ignore my gamedev tunes

recording multiplayer tests are tricky ive got spectator cameras set up,with free cam and watching other racers. gonna be real handy for network tests. one of those features u take for granted, but I had to redo alot of my backend netcode to get this working properly.

The framework for the bikes is fully implemented, they have less Energy and Boost power then cars, but they have more grip, and can take tighter turns to compensate.

I couldnt find any documents on how MK or CTR handle their drifting but this is likely the case in most Kart racers. the method I came to was ironically increasing grip while drifting so you can turn tighter or looser while drifting. this gives more consistent control in drift.

I really dont get these. im only 1.5 yrs into UE but my graphs have NEVER looked this bad, not 1 graph in my game looks this bad. on the Left the main graph that powers my vehicles, the Right, one of my oldest messiest functions. both could be cleaner,sure, but neither that bad.

AAA gave up making racers that were focused on fun, for sim/simcade racers focused on letting you drive Licensed cars. Alot of older racing fans like myself are bitter + nostalgic or they moved on to other genres. the racing genre is def not lucrative anymore even for AAA. but-

For the past couple months ive been doing ALOT of netcode. coming from my multiplayer fps project I expected it to be easier. but networking a Racing game turned out to be alot harder (and less documented) then FPS's. but the results are pretty alright now so hell yea.
