A motion of no confidence in Simon Coveney is not justified and the timing of it is terrible given Ireland's current Presidency of the UN Security Council where all focus should be. The motion and saga is a counterproductive distraction from Coveney's internationally crucial work

The Social Democrats have a slogan "If you want change, vote for it" If voters want higher Local Property Tax, higher Income Tax, higher Inheritance Tax with the Social Democrats, voters can vote for that, but I wouldn't advise it, especially not in Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown

It's welcome that Dún Laoghaire has been named at No.6 out of 40 towns and cities in the Irish Business Against Litter (IBAL) survey for 2021, with the designation 'Cleaner than European Norms' - a positive reflection on @dlrcc as well as residents and visitors to the area

At @dlrcc area meeting tonight I encouraged the council to expedite more Tree Protection Orders (following removal of fine trees recently in Foxrock) to safeguard trees near new developments from removal, in response @dlrcc said a new Tree Strategy will be prepared next month

If Rory McIlroy wins The Open it will be the biggest moment in Irish sporting history since Ireland beat the All Blacks in a series on their own turf

I've submitted a motion for Monday's @dlrcc council meeting to petition the Minister of @DeptCulturelRL to revise Large Scale Sport Infrastructure Fund guidelines so standalone swimming pool projects such as Glenalbyn in #Stillorgan can be assessed more favourably for funding
