I don't have to imagine. In the 90s the IRS got their records screwed up and thought she hadn't filed a tax return. About three years after that tax year we were informed because their FIRST step, was to garnish her wages. WTF? We have filed our tax return jointly every year since we got married, but they made us bring in a copy of the return showing we had filed it. So we did. "Ah, there it is." No apology, nothing. No big deal for us - we were living on her income and banking mine at the time, but the arrogance and entitlement still pisses me off.
