It never ceases to amaze me; the number of arrogant pricks that think that their taste in (music, movies, food, art, etc.) is the be all end all and that anyone that disagrees is somehow without knowledge or sophisticated taste. I have my taste. The Beatles are neither my most, nor least favorite. But for me to believe that what my taste is must be what others’ taste is, or that I am in a position to criticize a band’s music just because they’re not my favorite seems a little pretentious. I’m sure, however, that Mr Starbuck’s opinion is undeniably completely accurate. After all, only an immodest douche would declare that his opinion is more valid than millions of people over the course of decades.
