@DeeNeill1 @TyneSnapper I think it's going to be an urban/ rural ( and probably Northumbrian) divide.

@StuartHeron4 It was always "keep your pension til last " & it encouraged saving which is sensible. Now it's turned on it's head. It's necessitating a lot of replanning!

@gardnerstuart39 Husband says they are too heavy. Daughter isn't used to them as I got out of the habit of making them.

@gardnerstuart39 My sister still makes dumplings for her soup. I don't as I'm the only one to eat them !

@gardnerstuart39 My daughter hasn't read it. But she would, no problem at all. As my husband says "what's in the cat comes out in the kitten". 🤣

@NadiaWhittomeMP Interesting that you quote statistics about women and men. Can you provide a clear statement on what your definition of a woman ( and indeed a man) is please?

@TyneSnapper Essentially. To say it's led me a merry dance is an understatement. However, I have found more completely unrelated obscure information & long forgotten people that I can bore you all with...all interesting, but nothing to do with the flipping pit!

@northumbriana @unherd There is always a certain reaction when one of the everyday, common words is found to have Norse origins e.g. Bank, cracket & staiths. People like that little connection to the Norse history of the region.
