@bobhamp This is a timely reminder for me. I'm currently doing financial stewardship counseling with freedom ministry and was asked to help achieve goals with a budget and timeframe. I'm choosing to also incorporate goals that are experiential in order to enhance the journey.

@bobhamp @racheljwelcher Now, when I teach others the disciplines, I have to be ok with their initial frustration at my "cavalier" attitude towards the structure and allow them to catch my attitude towards the Who and the Way. I won't settle for less...even if it were to make me appear more effective.

@bobhamp @racheljwelcher I was just thinking about this yesterday! My upbringing taught me the disciplines quite well, but the Way escaped me. I was left feeling quite accomplished, but very unsatisfied. The disciplines are still important to me but now I seek connection more than the structures.

@bobhamp Before this revelation, even relief was bittersweet because it often came with fear that the thing which I had perceived as my bondage might return and I would no longer be "free". Now, I experience freedom even without relief, and relief without fear.

@bobhamp Amen! And what still blows my mind is that He didn't do it to show off what He could do but to show us what He was inviting us to follow and experience for ourselves through Him: full righteousness and complete identity. This journey is a daily miracle!

@bobhamp Your testimony, teaching, and reminders are deeply appreciated. My sanctification and joy in life have greatly benefited from God's grace to me through you and Polly. I'm living much closer now to the authentic me that God intended...and growing still. It's exhilarating!

@bobhamp I heard you teach this years ago, and Holy Spirit has used it as a major point in the renewing of my mind. At times, this truth can be a challenge to remember. But it has encouraged and given me hope that has opened my eyes to the fullness of sanctification in my true identity.

@bobhamp Thank you for posting this! This morning, I was actively choosing to be receptive; asking Holy Spirit to lead me into faith and sensitivity to reality through His eyes. I need a more right-brained spiritual connection at this point. Your words encouraged me in this process.
